Objective: To develop and assess the psychometrics of the Chronic Headache Self-Efficacy Scale (CHASE).
Background: Existing scales assess self-efficacy in coping strategies and management of symptoms and triggers but do not measure other important self-efficacy domains, such as performing daily activities and socializing in patients with chronic daily headache (CDH).
Methods: The study had two phases: (i) Development of the 14-item CHASE, with items derived from patients with CDH and a multidisciplinary healthcare team; (ii) longitudinal observational study for psychometric evaluation.
Background: ACL injuries commonly occur in non-contact situations, particularly in sports involving jumping, landing, and cutting. Numerous biomechanical predictors for non-contact ACL injury have been proposed, yet existing reviews on biomechanical predictors vary in scope and findings.
Research Question: This review aims to identify biomechanical predictors of primary ACL injury using a scoping review.

Background: Although patients with psychotic disorders (PPS) are indicated for outpatient psychotherapy at any stage of their illness, they are rarely treated in this way. For this purpose, structural conditions, the experience of competence of therapists, as well as content-related aspects of training and further education of psychotherapists are analyzed.
Methods: Based on a qualitative preliminary study, an online survey was conducted among 487 psychological psychotherapists.
Sleep has a homeostatic role in the regulation of the immune system and serves to constrain activation of inflammatory signalling and expression of cellular inflammation. In patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), a misaligned inflammatory profile induces a dysregulation of sleep-wake activity, which leads to excessive inflammation and the induction of increased sensitivity to pain. Given that multiple biological mechanisms contribute to sleep disturbances (such as insomnia), and that the central nervous system communicates with the innate immune system via neuroendocrine and neural effector pathways, potential exists to develop prevention opportunities to mitigate the risk of insomnia in RA.

In this review article the current model of the interaction between the sympathetic nervous system (SNS) and the immune system in the context of chronic inflammation is presented. Mechanisms in the interaction between the SNS and the immune system are shown, which are similar for all disease entities: 1) the biphasic effect of the sympathetic system on the inflammatory response with a proinflammatory, stimulating effect before and during the activation of the immune system (early) and a more inhibitory effect in late phases of immune activation (chronic). 2) The interruption of communication between immune cells and the brain by withdrawal of sympathetic nerve fibers from areas of inflammation, such as the spleen, lymph nodes or peripheral foci of inflammation.

Background: Although dynamic knee valgus can be visually identified using the 2D frontal plane projection angle (FPPA), the validity of the FPPA in terms of predicting frontal plane knee kinematics has been questioned. The biomechanical utility of the FPPA may lie in its ability to predict frontal plane knee moments.
Hypothesis/purpose: The purpose of the current study was to comprehensively evaluate the ability of the FPPA to predict the frontal plane knee kinetics (peak moment, average moment, and moment at peak knee flexion) across a wide range of tasks (stepping, landing, and change of direction).
Stress-associated somatic and psychiatric disorders are often linked to non-resolving low-grade inflammation, which is promoted at least in part by glucocorticoid (GC) resistance of distinct immune cell subpopulations. While the monocyte/macrophage compartment was in the focus of many clinical and preclinical studies, the role of myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) in stress-associated pathologies and GC resistance is less understood. As GC resistance is a clear risk factor for posttraumatic complications in patients on intensive care, the exact interplay of physical and psychosocial traumatization in the development of GC resistance needs to be further clarified.

Methods: Blood samples from 116 patients with RA were analyzed in a prospective study. Based on biochemical parameters, patients were classified as having IDA, anemia of chronic disease (ACD), IDA with concomitant ACD (ACD/IDA), or "other anemia.
Objective: To determine whether quadriceps strength symmetry can predict peak vertical ground reaction force (vGRF) running force symmetry in patients who have undergone ACL reconstruction (ACLR). We also sought to determine a cutoff for quadriceps strength symmetry to identify patients at risk for vGRF running asymmetry.
Design: Retrospective cross-sectional.
We analyzed 131 human brains (44 neurotypical, 19 with Tourette syndrome, 9 with schizophrenia, and 59 with autism) for somatic mutations after whole genome sequencing to a depth of more than 200×. Typically, brains had 20 to 60 detectable single-nucleotide mutations, but ~6% of brains harbored hundreds of somatic mutations. Hypermutability was associated with age and damaging mutations in genes implicated in cancers and, in some brains, reflected in vivo clonal expansions.
