Recurrent pericarditis poses a significant challenge to clinicians, particularly when patients are unresponsive or intolerant to conventional treatments. Accurate diagnosis of recurrent pericarditis, potentially facilitated by collaboration with other medical specialties, is crucial for ensuring timely and appropriate treatment of symptoms and prevention of further episodes. We present a case of a 52-year-old male patient with a history of multiple episodes of pericarditis, who was admitted to the Cardiology Department due to another recurrence.

The awareness of the importance of RV function in PAH has increased considerably because right heart failure is the predominant cause of death in PAH patients. Given its wide availability and reduced cost, echocardiography is of paramount importance in the evaluation of the right heart in PAH.

The striatal protein Regulator of G-protein signaling 9-2 (RGS9-2) plays a key modulatory role in opioid, monoamine, and other G-protein-coupled receptor responses. Here, we use the murine spared-nerve injury model of neuropathic pain to investigate the mechanism by which RGS9-2 in the nucleus accumbens (NAc), a brain region involved in mood, reward, and motivation, modulates the actions of tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs). Prevention of RGS9-2 action in the NAc increases the efficacy of the TCA desipramine and dramatically accelerates its onset of action.
