The data on 80 cases of radical resection and extirpation of the esophagus for intrathoracic tumors entailing esophagogastroplasty are discussed. The report deals with the results of organ-saving surgery for subchondral endoprosthesis carried out in 31 patients with primary tumors and pathological fracture of bones caused by metastasis. An original procedure using the anatomo-physiological peculiarities of cartilage permits to preserve the physiological status of the joint. Lysis of tumor cells in subchondral bone is caused by methyl acrylate used as bone cement.

The action of the synthetic antioxidant aemoxipin, 3-oxypyridime derivative on platelet aggregation was studied in 8 patients with ischemic heart disease and cardialgias. An hour later after an intravenous injection in a dose of 5-10 mg/kg, aemoxipin reduced platelet aggregation by 25% (p < 0.05), inhibited the reaction of "release" and spontaneous platelet aggregation.

The paper deals with the analysis of dynamics of working activity of 146 radically treated gastric cancer patients examined by the Oncological Commission for Ability Expertise of Novosibirsk in 1984-1988 and then followed for 2-5 years. The percentage of patients returning to work was the highest during the first and third years posttreatment. This was attributed to extension of temporary invalidity period and rehabilitation of group 2 invalids, respectively.
