Desilication products (DSPs) are one of the main components of bauxite residue, which is currently discharged without further usage. The present study reports on the use of DSPs as adsorbents for basic fuchsine dye. Using artificial spent liquor, we synthesized not only neat DSP but also solids in the presence of various organics, to account for their likely occurrence during the Bayer process.

Social determinants of health (SDoH) significantly contribute to these disparities, affecting healthcare access, neighborhood environments, and social context. We discuss the design, development, and use of an innovative web-based application integrating real-world data (electronic health record and geospatial files), to enhance comprehension of the impact of SDoH on T2 DM health disparities.

The present study offers novel insight into the topic of experienced and observed emotional abuse by researching factors that affect athletes' responses to emotional abuse by coaches. The research aimed to explore three main questions: (1) whether athletic identity was associated with the prevalence of emotionally abusive coaching practices, and (2) disclosure of emotional abuse, and (3) whether demographic variations existed in the frequency of emotional abuse, athletic identity, and disclosure of the abuse. Study participants who filled in an anonymous digital survey consisted of athletes from elite to leisure levels living in Finland ( = 3687, aged 12-80, gender 61% female, 37.

The procedure relies on the utilization of hypoboric acid and redox-active esters of alkylcarboxylic acids to ensure a simple and economic procedure. Quantum chemical calculations and mechanistic considerations provide deeper insights into the mechanism of photochemical borylation reactions.

This study explored the relationships between athletes' experiences of maltreatment and mental health indicators. Canadian National Team athletes completed an online, anonymous survey that assessed reported experiences of maltreatment (psychological, physical, sexual harm and neglect), and mental health indicators of well-being, eating disorders and self-harming behaviours. All forms of maltreatment had a significant, positive correlation with eating disorder and self-harming behaviours, and a negative correlation with well-being.

This involves the prediction of ground and excited state redox potentials, for which an accurate description of electronic structures is needed. Even with highly sophisticated computational approaches, however, a number of difficulties arise from the complexity of excited state redox potentials, as they require the calculation of the corresponding ground state redox potentials and the estimation of the 0-0 transition energies ().

This study's objectives were to (1) develop and evaluate an electronic health record (EHR)-based clinical predictive model ("model") for identifying high-risk CCHN and (2) compare the model's performance as a clinical decision support (CDS) to other CDS tools available for identifying high-risk CCHN.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study included children aged 0 to 20 years with established care within a single health system.
In 2011, the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine released their first position paper on Abuse, Harassment, and Bullying in Sport. Since this time, there have been significant advancements within the global sport landscape, including the emergence of regulatory bodies and initiatives aimed at prioritizing athletes' health and well-being. While the shift to a more proactive approach for safeguarding athletes is evident and promising, athletes continue to be affected by cases of maltreatment.

Patients And Methods: Men received talazoparib 1 mg/day (moderate renal impairment 0.
Objective: Sequential posteroanterior chest radiographs (CXRs) on any one patient are commonly displayed at different sizes on PACS monitors. The purpose of this study was to determine the cause of these differences, the percentage of radiographs affected, the relative change in magnification seen and if radiologists were aware of this display difference.
Methods: Differences in routine radiographer collimation pre-acquisition and image cropping (shuttering) post acquisition were noted.
[1,2]-shift of atoms in alkyl fragments belongs to the class of dyotropic rearrangements. Various atoms, including halogens can be involved in the migration, however participation of iodine is unprecedented. Herein, we report our experimental and DFT studies on the oxidation triggered dyotropic rearrangement of iodo and chloro functions via butterfly-type transition state to demonstrate the migrating ability of λ -iodane centre.

Objective: To evaluate patient-reported health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and pain in patients who received talazoparib in the TALAPRO-1 study, with a special interest in patients harboring breast cancer susceptibility gene 1 or 2 (BRCA1/2) mutations.
Design, Setting, And Participants: TALAPRO-1 is a single-arm, phase 2 study in men with mCRPC DDR alterations either directly or indirectly involved in HRR, who previously received one to two taxane-based chemotherapy regimens for advanced prostate cancer and whose mCRPC progressed on one or more novel hormonal agents.
In the context of sport, a growing body of research has reported the prevalence of violence against athletes, including sexual, physical, and psychological violence and neglect, experienced by both women and men in sport. Preliminary research has reported that gender-diverse individuals, specifically transgender athletes, may have a greater vulnerability to experiences of violence in sport, but this remains an under-researched population. In addition to limited research specifically on violence experienced by transgender athletes in sport, there is also only emerging research on virtual violence against athletes, with previous research on virtual violence in sporting spaces highlighting how online spaces are sites that can foster widespread hostility and violence.

A consequence has been the emergence of the Safe Sport movement whereby organizations including the International Olympic Committee, Safe Sport International, US Center for SafeSport, Sport Canada, and others, have developed policies, initiatives, and education intended to create safer sport environments for all participants. Most of these policies have been implemented using a top-down approach, driven by government officials and sport leaders.

There is a common misunderstanding regarding the links between allergy to iodinated substances and the risk of allergic reaction to intravenous iodinated contrast agents. These perceived risks are managed via administration of corticosteroids or avoidance of iodinated contrast altogether.

This paper reports a recent example of interstate transfer, as small rolls of turf transferred from a turf nursery in Victoria to the Brisbane Cricket Ground (the Gabba) for the Australian Football League Grand Final in October 2020 were found to be infested with . Despite this transfer, evidence is provided to suggest that Queensland should be considered provisionally free of .

Theoretical prediction of electronic absorption spectra without input from experiments is no easy feat, as it requires addressing all of the factors that affect line shapes. In practice, however, the methodologies are limited to treat these ingredients only to a certain extent. Here, we present a multiscale protocol that addresses the temperature, solvent, and nuclear quantum effects as well as anharmonicity and the reconstruction of the final spectra from individual transitions.

When conventional policy tools, such as quantitative risk assessments, are insufficient, the precautionary principle provides a practical framework and range of robust heuristics. Yet, precaution is often resisted in many policy arenas, especially those involving powerful self-interests, and this resistance is compounded by structures of privilege and competitive individualism in science.
