Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a risk factor for the development of ulnar nerve entrapment (UNE). Differences in surgical outcomes for UNE between patients with and without DM have been reported, but studies on presurgical management are scarce. This study aimed to evaluate the presurgical management of UNE in patients with (DM diagnosis < 2 years of UNE diagnosis) and without DM regarding the level of care for diagnosis and the proportion that proceeds to surgery.

Moreover, in-depth studies of early tumor-driving events are limited because of the lack of appropriate models. Herein, we analyzed RNA sequencing data obtained from human neuroblastoma samples and found that loss of expression of trunk neural crest-enriched gene associates with advanced disease and worse outcome.

We identified 3204 individuals operated with digital nerve repair in the Swedish national quality registry for hand surgery (HAKIR). Patient-reported symptoms, including cold sensitivity and perceived disability, were examined using two questionnaires (HQ-8 and QuickDASH), three and 12 months postoperatively.

Methods: We compared data from 380 patients, 296 female and 84 males, mean age 42 years, 246 idiopathic (ID), 107 diabetic (DM), and 27 post-surgical (PS). The statistical significance was calculated by Chi-square test and a P-value obtained for ID, DM, and PS.
Mixed anxiety and depression is common among older adults. The aim of the study was to compare the effects of an eight-week-long tailored internet-supported cognitive behaviour therapy (ICBT) programme and to compare against the provision of weekly general support. A second aim was to investigate if pre-treatment cognitive flexibility and self-reported cognitive problems would predict outcome.

A drinking test has been suggested as a noninvasive measure of gastric accommodation capacity.
Methods: Eight patients with therapy refractory nausea and vomiting and nonapproved diagnosis for GES (chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction (CIP, n=1), functional dyspepsia (FD, n=3), postsurgical gastroparesis (PSGP, n=4) underwent temporary percutaneous GES for 10-14 days, randomized to stimulation ON or OFF, respectively.
Background: Warfarin is used for the prevention of stroke in chronic atrial fibrillation. The product has a narrow therapeutic index and to obtain treatment success, patients must be maintained within a given therapeutic range (International Normalised Ratio;INR). To ensure a wise allocation of health care resources, scrutiny of costs associated with various treatments is justified.

It is an efficacious anticoagulant, but it has a narrow therapeutic range, and regular monitoring is required to ensure therapeutic efficacy and at the same time avoid life-threatening adverse events. The objective was to assess management and resource consumption associated with patient monitoring episodes during warfarin treatment in primary health care in Sweden.

Methods: Two hundred ninety-eight patients (age range, 18 to 60 years) from 15 centers in Sweden completed a questionnaire concerning their asthma, and ranked 18 alternative treatments using conjoint analysis. Patients were receiving treatment with either inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) and short-acting bronchodilator (n = 123) or ICS and long-acting bronchodilator (separate inhalers, n = 87; combination inhaler, n = 88).
