Background: This article is to review cervical lymphadenitis due to tuberculosis (TB), their presentation, their aetiology, the methods used to diagnose them, the treatment modalities offered and the response to treatment.
Methods: 1019 patients were diagnosed and treated for TB of the lymph nodes of the neck from 1st November 2001 to 31st August 2020 at a tertiary ENT hospital, Nadiad, Gujarat, India. Study consisted about 61% males and 39% females with the mean age being 37.
Background: The metatarsal bone is commonly utilized in preclinical fracture models in sheep. A majority of studies achieve fracture stabilization with bone plating, but more recently intramedullary interlocking nails (IMN) have been utilized. The mechanical properties of this unique surgical technique utilizing an IMN has not yet been fully elucidated or compared to the traditional locking compression plating (LCP) technique.

Currently, there is not an adequate model to study the pathophysiology of this condition. The objective of this proof-of-concept study was to determine if subserosal implantation of bioinert microchips in the large intestine would be detectable by a RFID (radio-frequency identification) receiver when the implanted microchips were adjacent to the body wall, thus identifying the location of the colon within the abdomen.

Despite varied experiences with support groups, most parents indicated the value of support groups is in providing a place where parents can feel understood and both share and gather information. Parents recommended support groups be targeted for parents of children with similar disabilities and needs, have flexible structures and qualified leaders, and offer a wide variety of content in various formats.

Method: We recruited individuals with a confirmed diagnosis of neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis. We obtained information from the caregiver using the validated Children's Sleep Habits Questionnaire which is a sleep instrument for both behaviorally and medically based problems.

Study Design: Charts of all (N = 30) patients with hereditary spherocytosis seen in pediatric hematology at West Virginia University-Charleston were reviewed. Family and transfusion history and presence of neonatal jaundice were recorded.
Objective: To determine relative concentrations of selected major brain tissue metabolites and their ratios and lobar variations by use of 3-T proton (hydrogen 1 [(1)H]) magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) of the brain of healthy dogs.
Animals: 10 healthy Beagles.
Procedures: 3-T (1)H MRS at echo times of 144 and 35 milliseconds was performed on 5 transverse slices and 1 sagittal slice of representative brain lobe regions.
Background: The utility of whole body magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in detecting bone marrow infiltration in dogs with cancer has not been investigated.
Objectives: To assess the feasibility of 3T body MRI for bone marrow assessment in dogs with hematopoietic neoplasia.
Animals: Seven dogs with B-cell lymphoma, 3 dogs with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), and 2 clinically normal dogs.
We performed a preliminary study involving 10 dogs to assess the applicability of body MRI for staging of canine diffuse hematopoietic neoplasia. T1-weighted (before and after intravenous gadolinium), T2-weighted, in-phase, out-of-phase, and short tau inversion recovery pulse sequences were used. By using digital region of interest (ROI) and visual comparison techniques, relative parenchymal organ (medial iliac lymph nodes, liver, spleen, kidney cortex, and kidney medulla) signal intensity was quantified as less than, equal to, or greater than that of skeletal muscle in 2 clinically normal young adult dogs and 10 dogs affected with either B-cell lymphoma (n = 7) or myelodysplastic syndrome (n = 3).

The level of fetal haemoglobin (HbF) is well-recognized as a critical laboratory parameter: lower HbF is associated with a higher risk of vaso-occlusive complications, organ damage, and early death. Hydroxycarbamide treatment can induce HbF, improve laboratory parameters, and ameliorate clinical complications of SCA but its mechanisms of action remain incompletely defined and the HbF response is highly variable.

Chronic transfusion therapy is used clinically to supply healthy erythrocytes for patients with sickle cell anemia (SCA) or beta-thalassemia major (TM). Despite the benefits of red blood cell transfusions, chronic transfusions lead to iron accumulation in key tissues such as the heart, liver, and endocrine glands. Transfusion-acquired iron overload is recognized as a cause of morbidity and mortality among patients receiving chronic transfusions.
