Patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), a B-cell malignancy characterized by impaired humoral and cellular immunity, are at increased risk of developing cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC). Human papilloma virus (HPV) is the most common sexually transmitted infection worldwide and it has been associated with various malignancies, including cSCC. A 4-year-old girl with an established diagnosis of atopic dermatitis, previously severe and treated with cyclosporine, developed widespread papules that demonstrated changes consistent with epidermodysplasia verruciformis on biopsy. Human papilloma virus (HPV) typing was performed and was consistent with epidermodysplasia verruciformis-type HPV (type 5). These lesions rapidly resolved with a 2-week course of imiquimod.

Laboratory testing of Lyme borreliosis includes culture, antibody detection using ELISA with whole extracts or recombinant chimeric borrelia proteins, immunoblot, and PCR with different levels of sensitivity and specificity for each test. Common skin manifestations of Lyme borreliosis include erythema migrans, lymphocytoma, and acrodermatitis chronica atrophicans.

Initial symptoms and findings of night sweats, weight loss, anorexia, generalized lymphadenopathy, and hemangiomas improved after chemotherapy with cyclophosphamide and prednisone. However, in the year following the initial diagnosis, the patient suffered from recurrent bouts of night sweats, gastroparesis, and lymphadenopathy, which required further treatment with plasmapheresis, cyclophosphamide, prednisone, and rituximab.
