Foreign-born (FB) persons represent a large proportion of adults with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) in Canada due to higher prevalence rates in countries of birth for FB persons. Suboptimal awareness and low rates of hepatitis delta virus (HDV) testing contribute to underdiagnosis and gaps in accurate estimates of Canada HDV prevalence. We aim to provide an assessment of CHB and HDV prevalence in Canada using a comprehensive literature review and meta-analysis.

Dipolar addition of cyclic azomethine imines with cyclic vinyl sulfones gave rise to functionalized tricycles that exhibited fluxional behavior in solution at room temperature. The scope of the synthetic methodology was explored, and the origin of the fluxional behavior was probed by NMR methods together with DFT calculations. This behavior was ultimately attributed to stereochemical inversion at one of two nitrogen centers embedded in the tricyclic framework.

A combination of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and in situ tensile testing in an environmental scanning electron microscopy (ESEM) was used to evaluate the static bulk and dynamic surface morphologies of medical polyurethanes. TEM results showed phase-separated hard segment and soft segment structures. Surface morphology as a function of strain was studied using ESEM in conjunction with a tensometer.

A m solution of ferrous sulphate (FeSO4) was used to generate ferrous ions similar to those found in chronic wounds.
