The American College of Surgeons Trauma Quality Improvement Program recommends 5 audit filters to identify records with erroneous data, and the Georgia Committee on Trauma instituted standardized audit filter analysis in all Level I and II trauma centers in the state.

Background: Severe obesity is associated with type 2 diabetes and hypertension. Improvement in these comorbidities after surgically-induced weight loss has been documented, and laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding (LAGB) is an effective weight loss operation.
