Controlling the structure of catalysts at the atomic level provides an opportunity to establish detailed understanding of the catalytic form-to-function and realize new, non-equilibrium catalytic structures. Here, advanced thin-film deposition is used to control the atomic structure of LaSrMnO, a well-known catalyst for the oxygen reduction reaction. The surface and sub-surface is customized, whereas the overall composition and d-electron configuration of the oxide is kept constant.

However, their synthesis and properties remain largely unexplored. Herein, we synthesized dense, predominantly single-phase samples of one such compound, MoAlB, using a reactive hot pressing method.

We report a case of a 60-year-old woman with a primary breast giant cell tumor that appeared histologically identical to giant cell tumor of bone and had a clinically malignant course. The patient presented with a cystic mass of the breast, suspected on imaging to be an organizing hematoma, possibly related to previous injury.

We describe two slowly progressive cases of T-cell lymphoma that involved both acral skin and oral cavity. One patient presented with a tongue nodule, completely responded to chemotherapy and then developed recurrent lymphoma involving tongue and skin a few months later that also responded to therapy. The second patient presented with a skin nodule that spontaneously resolved without therapy, and subsequently recurred in tongue and skin a few years later.

The concept has since expanded to include many different combinations of pilosebaceous unit differentiation. Entities previously reported also include infundibular and pilomatricomal cyst, trichilemmal and pilomatricomal cyst, eruptive vellus hair cyst combined with steatocystoma or trichilemmal cyst, and trichilemmal, sebaceous, and pilomatricomal cyst.

One of the barriers to early detection of CKD is the lack of a precise, reliable and consistent measure of kidney function. The most common measure of kidney function is currently serum creatinine concentration.

Atypical lymphoid infiltrations arose within the influenza inoculation sites of two adult female patients. One patient developed a low-grade cutaneous marginal zone B-cell lymphoma (MZL) that was responsive to local excision and radiation therapy despite spread to a distant cutaneous site. The second patient's clinical course was characterized by a locally aggressive, histologically reactive inflammatory reaction responsive only to radiation therapy after multiple failed attempts at surgical resection.

Although this procedure has been shown to be equal, if not superior, to surgical placement in a number of trials, the technique is not widely used. The procedure can be performed safely by a nephrologist, as a day case, at the convenience of both the patient and the renal service.
