Background Our aim was to assess the clinical presentation and outcomes of patients with a manometric diagnosis of esophagogastric junction outflow obstruction (EGJOO) using standardized symptom surveys and comparison to a cohort who were referred for manometry but who had a normal study. Methods We followed a cohort of adult patients without a mechanical obstruction who underwent high-resolution manometry at our medical center from 9/12/19 to 10/4/21 for 16 months. Results Thirty-seven patients with EGJOO (age: 60.

We aimed to describe prehabilitation use and examine predictors of utilization in fee-for-service Medicare beneficiaries.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study using the Medicare Limited Data Set included fee-for-service Medicare beneficiaries who were ≥ 66 years old and who underwent inpatient elective THA or TKA between January 1, 2016, and September 30, 2021.
Purpose: To identify whether the timing of supervised physical rehabilitation initiation after isolated arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) is associated with (1) diagnosis of arthrofibrosis and (2) surgical intervention for arthrofibrosis within 12 months after surgery.
Methods: Outpatient isolated arthroscopic ACLR procedures in 2017-2020 were identified from the Merative MarketScan database. The cohort was limited to patients aged 18 to 64 years who initiated supervised physical rehabilitation at 0 to 30 days postoperatively and had continuous enrollment in the database for 12 months before and after surgery.

NIMO-TEMPO is a metrology device that measures all types of intraocular lenses available in the ophthalmic market. Its technology, based on interferometry, captures the wavefront of the lens to compute optical results essential to evaluate its quality and understand its characteristics. This study aims to demonstrate the reliability of this device and its associated software, TEMPO-MENTOR, in measuring intraocular lenses.

Methods: In this prospective case-control study, the biometric parameters of eyes in children with extreme hyperopia were compared to those of an emmetropic cohort of similar age. Comprehensive eye examinations were conducted for new patients.
Purpose: To characterize the initiation and use of supervised physical rehabilitation after arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR), including overall duration of rehabilitation and number of rehabilitation visits, and to describe demographic and clinical predictors of rehabilitation initiation and use characteristics.
Methods: Patients aged 14 to 64 years in the United States who underwent ACLR from 2017 to 2020 were identified using the Merative MarketScan Database. For patients initiating rehabilitation within 45 days postoperatively, the overall duration and number of visits within 1 year after surgery were determined.
Study Design: Retrospective study.
Objective: We examined racial disparities in (1) cervical disc arthroplasty (CDA) versus anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) utilization and (2) CDA in-hospital outcomes.
Summary Of Background Data: ACDF and CDA are established treatments for cervical disc disease.
Oral contraceptives (OC) are the most used form of contraception among women in the U.S. and Europe.

Such infrastructure can include above-ground power cables and outdoor heat pumps. Here, we introduce a hybrid surface design that passively controls the diffusion of water vapor over a surface to sustain flat frost-free regions for long periods of time.

In this study, we examined the relationship between primary spoken language and outcomes and patient engagement process metrics in a multihospital academic health system.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study included patients who underwent elective primary total hip or knee arthroplasty in 2018 to 2022.
Background Context: While some studies have demonstrated that ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) are associated with reduced costs of orthopedic procedures, there is no consensus in the current literature as to the impact of ASCs versus hospital-based outpatient departments (HOPDs) on anterior cervical discectomies and fusions (ACDFs).
Purpose: This study sought to (1) compare immediate procedure reimbursements, patient out-of-pocket expenditures, and surgeon reimbursements for ACDFs performed at ASCs versus HOPDs and (2) identify factors predicting facility utilization.
Study Design: Retrospective cross-sectional study.

Background: Prehabilitation has potential to improve outcomes in value-based care models. We examined the associations between the receipt of prehabilitation (physical therapy [PT] services within 30 days preoperatively) and postoperative healthcare utilization in a national cohort of fee-for-service Medicare beneficiaries.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study used the 5% fee-for-service claims from the Medicare limited data set to identify unilateral elective inpatient total hip arthroplasty (THA) procedures (n = 25,509) and total knee arthroplasty (TKA) procedures (n = 40,091) from January 1, 2016 to September 30, 2021.
Purpose: Prediction of athlete wellness is difficult-or, many sports-medicine practitioners and scientists would argue, impossible. Instead, one settles for correlational relationships of variables gathered at fixed moments in time. The issue may be an inherent mismatch between usual methods of data collection and analysis and the complex nature of the variables governing athlete wellness.

The author explores the way in which a more complete depiction of projective processes, one that incorporates each partner's intrapersonal management of multiple internal object relations, interacting interpersonally in the couple therapy process, can explain the escalating cycles of conflict between couples that are elaborated in the family-systems literature, and be helpful in understanding the object-relational substrate of chronic conflict in couples more generally. A description of how to map each partner's internal object world through the identification of these cycles in the early couple therapy process is elaborated in a theoretical model and illustrated with case material.

The objective is to systematically review contemporary literature on the impact of the use of NRTF and data relay to providers on standardized patient experience measures. Six scientific databases and five specialty journals were searched supplemented by snowballing search strategies, according to the registered study protocol.
