Alkyl Radical Addition to Aliphatic and Aromatic -Acylhydrazones Using an Organic Photoredox Catalyst.

Increased versatility of intermolecular radical addition to imino acceptors via photoredox catalysis is reported. Primary and secondary radicals, generated via visible-light photocatalysis from alkyl biscatecholatosilicates with organocatalyst 4CzIPN, add successfully to both aromatic and aliphatic -acylhydrazones in the presence of MgCl. With -benzoylhydrazones, a simple reductive cleavage of the N-N bond of the hydrazine adduct furnishes the free amine.

Design and development of a gait training system for Parkinson's disease.

Background: Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation (RAS) is an effective technique to improve gait and reduce freezing episodes for Persons with Parkinson's Disease (PwPD). The BeatHealth system, which comprises a mobile application, gait sensors, and a website, exploits the potential of the RAS technique. This paper describes the tools used for co-designing and evaluating the system and discusses the results and conclusions.

Frictions as barriers to perioperative alignment: results from a latent class analysis.

The quality of the relationship between the sterile processing department (SPD) and the operating room (OR) is an important determinant of OR safety and performance. In this article, the concept of "friction" refers to the SPD behaviors and attributes that can negatively affect OR performance. Panels of SPD professionals initially were asked to identify and operationally define different ways in which behaviors of a hospital's SPD could compromise OR performance.
