Background: Sleeve gastrectomy is the most performed bariatric surgery. Post-operative gastric sleeve leaks, although rare, are dreaded complications. This study aims to perform an updated investigation of the factors associated with sleeve leaks.

E-scooter and E-bike injury pattern profile in an inner-city trauma center in upper Manhattan.

Background: Electric bikes and scooters are becoming popular means of short-distance transportation in major cities. Regulations for safe riding established by ride-sharing companies and local governments have not been effectively implemented. Inner-city hospitals are at the frontline of receiving traumas related to e-bikes and e-scooters and are receiving an increasing number of injuries.

Endovascular retrieval of foreign body in persistent left-sided superior vena cava.

Endovascular retrieval of a foreign body is becoming an increasingly common procedure in the management of complications resulting from more frequent endovascular procedures. Many procedures are performed on a regular basis in assessment of vascular anatomy, endovascular-guided therapy, and catheter placement. This case report depicts a complication of a chemoport placement resulting in a foreign body.

Pancreatic sarcoidosis discovered during Whipple procedure.

Pancreatic sarcoidosis is a rare variant of systemic sarcoidosis, with cases described in literature as recently as January 2010. We present here a case of pancreatic involvement with non-caseating granulomas discovered on laparotomy in a patient with a preoperative diagnosis of pancreatic carcinoma. Computer tomography scan without contrast revealed a well-marginated smooth-shaped tumor in the head of the pancreas morphologically consistent with malignancy.

Breast cancer in pregnancy: case report.

This case report is about a case of breast cancer in pregnancy at the Brooklyn hospital Center. Our patient's case highlights some of the inherent causes of fatality in PABC and how to thread the line between the mother's health and the baby`s safety to ensure a good outcome for both parties.
