Background: Among the growing aesthetic patient population, Hispanic/Latinos represent the largest proportion of non-Caucasians patients. While treatment of Caucasian facial aging patterns are well documented, far less information describes the aesthetic needs of the Hispanic/Latino patient. Objective: An online study was designed to survey facial aesthetic concerns, treatment priorities, and future treatment considerations among a US-based population of Hispanic/Latino American women.

A role for M(2) and M(3) muscarinic receptors in the contraction of rat and human small airways.

Large airway bronchoconstriction acts mainly through cholinergic pathways via muscarinic M3 receptors with some contribution from M2 receptors. By contrast, the mechanisms of small airway contraction are largely unknown. This study used precision cut lung slices to examine the role of muscarinic M2 and M3 receptors in the contractile response of rat and human small airways.

An examination of iconic memory in children with autism spectrum disorders.

Iconic memory is the ability to accurately recall a number of items after a very brief visual exposure. Previous research has examined these capabilities in typically developing (TD) children and individuals with intellectual disabilities (ID); however, there is limited research on these abilities in children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Twenty-one TD and eighteen ASD children were presented with circular visual arrays of letters for 100 ms and were asked to recall as many letters as possible or a single letter that was cued for recall.

Janus kinase 3 (JAK3) deficiency: clinical, immunologic, and molecular analyses of 10 patients and outcomes of stem cell transplantation.

We found 10 individuals from 7 unrelated families among 170 severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) patients who exhibited 9 different Janus kinase 3 (JAK3) mutations. These included 3 missense and 2 nonsense mutations, 1 insertion, and 3 deletions. With the exception of 1 individual with persistence of transplacentally transferred maternal lymphocytes, all infants presented with a T-B+NK- phenotype.
