Recent advances in antiviral therapy have improved outcomes in HIV-positive individuals co-infected with hepatitis B and C virus (HBV/HCV). Our aim was to assess prevalence and predictors of chronic liver disease (CLD) due to the metabolic syndrome (MS), alcohol and antiretrovirals (ARVs) use in HIV-monoinfected individuals. This was a retrospective cohort study (2005-2012).

Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study.
Objectives: The primary objective was to examine trends in new HIV diagnoses in a UK area of high HIV prevalence between 2000 and 2012 with respect to site of diagnosis and stage of HIV infection.
Design: Single-centre observational cohort study.
Setting: An outpatient HIV department in a secondary care UK hospital.
Aim: Calcineurin inhibitors are substrates for P-glycoprotein (P-gp), the expression of which is associated with ABCB1 C3435T polymorphism. Individual P-gp response to calcineurin inhibitor may be linked to nephrotoxicity or rejection. Tc-2-Methoxyisobutylisonitrile (Tc-MIBI) is also a P-gp substrate.

Materials And Methods: Patients with NMIBC treated with intravesical BCG over a 5-year period were identified. The correlations between histopathological results and disease recurrence and progression were assessed, with survival analysis performed using the Kaplan-Meier method.
