Multiple myeloma (MM) is a heterogeneous malignancy of plasma cells. Despite improvement in the prognosis of MM patients after the introduction of many new drugs in the past decades, MM remains incurable since most patients become treatment-resistant. Cyclin-dependent kinase 6 (CDK6) is activated in many types of cancer and has been associated with drug resistance in MM.

Clinical data suggest that the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), causing the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), impairs glucose homoeostasis, but experimental evidence that SARS-CoV-2 can infect pancreatic tissue has been lacking. In the present study, we show that SARS-CoV-2 infects cells of the human exocrine and endocrine pancreas ex vivo and in vivo.

Little is known about the effect of these policies on physician prescribing.
Objective: To analyze the association between detailing policies enacted at AMCs and physician prescribing of actively detailed and not detailed drugs.
Objective: Concern over the rise of vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) coupled with the increasing popularity of homeschooling makes understanding the attitudes and behaviors of homeschoolers regarding immunizations a critical area of investigation. This study was a pilot to investigate the immunization attitudes of homeschooling parents and the vaccination status of their children.
Methods: In the spring of 2010, online surveys were sent to a convenience sample of 707 homeschooling parents in Western Pennsylvania with children ages 0-18 years of age.
Depo-medroxyprogesterone acetate (DMPA) is an increasingly popular contraceptive choice among Navajo women. Weight gain is cited as a common side effect and major reason for discontinuation of DMPA. No controlled trials have evaluated the association between weight gain and DMPA in Navajo women.

Research Design And Methods: A retrospective analysis of 111 GDM deliveries over a 4-year period, 1983-1987, was conducted in 1994 to determine glucose tolerance status. Patients who had not developed NIDDM were recalled for a 2-h glucose tolerance test (GTT).
The purpose of the study was to determine the incidence of silent but significant urinary tract abnormalities that might be detected by screening renal ultrasound studies of apparently healthy infants. Of 437 babies studied, six were found to have uropathology severe enough to warrant surgery for an incidence of 1.37% or one of every 73 babies studied.

The temperature gradient and thermal conductivity of the sediment were measured at each of four stations in water depths exceeding 250 meters. Consideration of the effects of climatic variations suggests that they may not seriously affect the values for heat flow obtained by this method.
