Colorectal cancer (CRC) is known to follow adenoma carcinoma sequence (ACS) in majority of the tumors and the driver variants and associated pathways are well delineated. However, most of the published data are from the west and information in other ethnicities is sparse. Objectives: Pancreas divisum (PD) as a cause of pancreatitis has been debated. In this study, we report the association of multiple gene polymorphisms on the risk of RAP in the presence of PD.
Design: We enrolled 687 individuals (167 IRAP, 276 ICP, and 244 unrelated healthy controls) from May 2015 to September 2016.
Aim: To validate the association of variants in (rs2281135) and (rs58542926) genes with ultrasound detected non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).
Methods: A total of 503 individuals with and without fatty infiltration were recruited. Fatty infiltration was confirmed based on ultrasound findings.
Background: Gene polymorphisms, including those recently described in the claudin2 gene, have been implicated in recurrent acute (RAP) and chronic pancreatitis (CP). In India, RAP and CP have been associated with SPINK1 polymorphism. In this study, we evaluated the association of claudin2 and PRSS1-PRSS2 polymorphisms with idiopathic RAP and CP.

Methods: Study subjects (n = 306) were recruited and categorized into NAFLD and control groups based on ultrasound findings of fatty infiltration. Of the 306 individuals, 156 individuals had fatty infiltration and thus comprised the NAFLD group.
