Case: Cuboid impaction fractures (nutcracker fractures) result from high-energy trauma and are exceedingly rare in children. We present a case of an 8-year-old boy who sustained a comminuted cuboid nutcracker fracture after a fall from height. The patient underwent open reduction and internal fixation with a locking plate.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the use of telemedicine has rapidly accelerated. Our orthopaedic department created a telemedicine educational program for residents using standardized patient scenarios. Osteoid osteomas are benign, typically intracortical lesions most often affecting the diaphyses of long bones. We describe a case involving a 26-year-old male laborer who presented with the insidious onset of ulnar-sided wrist pain. He was diagnosed with and successfully treated with surgical excision for an osteoid osteoma involving the hook of the hamate.

We report on the sixth case of an isolated pediatric transolecranon fracture-dislocation, and the first case utilizing nonoperative management in a cast following closed reduction resulting in an excellent outcome. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine whether a modified step-cut tibial tubercle osteotomy (Maquet-Fulkerson hybrid) might produce comparable or better results than a standard oblique anteromedialization tibial tubercle osteotomy (Fulkerson type) and thus warrant the surgical need for additional cuts.

Methods: Six pairs of cadaveric knees were evaluated prior to and after tibial tubercle osteotomies. Simulation was done via a shallow knee bend simulator through 20 to 70° of knee flexion for the intact specimens and following the surgical procedures.
