Background: Esophageal perforation or postoperative leak after esophageal surgery remain a life-threatening condition. The optimal management strategy is still unclear.
Aim: To determine clinical outcomes and complications of our 15-year experience in the multidisciplinary management of esophageal perforations and anastomotic leaks.
: Unlike liver metastases, the role of surgery in colorectal cancer lung-limited metastases (CCLLM) is not yet established, and data are still poor. We performed a retrospective analysis to evaluate the impact of surgery on the management of CCLLM. : We retrospectively analyzed patients who received surgery for CCLLM at our Institution from January 2010 to June 2019.

Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is a rare malignancy of mesenchymal origin of medium-low grade with a tendency to local recurrences but not to distant metastases. We present the case of a 37-year-old male who underwent surgical resection of a 1.2 cm DFSP lesion on the left shoulder in May 2020.

This study aims to identify risk factors, clinical characteristics, and outcomes associated with PNM in COVID-19 patients hospitalized for respiratory failure in our institution.
Methods: Among 4513 patients admitted in our institution and testing positive for COVID-19 infection during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy (1 March 2020 to 31 July 2020), we conducted a single-center, retrospective case-control study focusing our analysis on those with severe disease (respiratory failure).
Our case presents a unique occurrence marking the first documentation of a connection between a typical carcinoid in the context of diffuse idiopathic pulmonary neuroendocrine cell hyperplasia (DIPNECH) and vascular anomalies, including a right-sided aortic arch with Kommerell's diverticulum. Kommerell's diverticulum is a rare congenital anomaly. The lusoria subclavian artery, another developmental anomaly, arises from the right aortic arch instead of the typical left side.

However, its efficacy and safety have not been assessed in patients undergoing thoracic surgery with one-lung ventilation. : Patients scheduled for pulmonary lobectomy using uniportal video-assisted thoracic surgery approach were randomly assigned to two groups.

Background: The advantages of video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) are well-recognized in several studies. However, in the cases of advanced lung cancer after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (nCT), the role of VATS is still questionable, with concerns about safety, technical feasibility, and oncological completeness. The aim of this study was to assess the impact of nCT on patients who had undergone uniportal VATS (U-VATS) anatomic lung resections for lung cancer, by comparing the short-term outcomes of patients after nCT with case-matched counterparts (treated by surgery alone).

The aim of the study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the technique.
Patients And Methods: Between March 2022 and April 2023, 50 patients, undergone uniportal VATS surgery at our thoracic surgery department, were scheduled for a surgically performed continuous s-SAPB as post-operative analgesia protocol.
Thymic cysts are rare, radiological diagnosis is often incidental, and cysts seldom assume clinical relevance for symptoms of compression. Thymoma were occasionally found inside both complex and simple thymic cysts. Given the challenges in accurately clinical diagnosing and since the occasionally discovering of thymoma inside both complex and simple thymic cysts, the management of thymic cysts remains controversial.

AI algorithms may accurately classify NSCLC stages using machine learning techniques and deep imaging data analysis. This could potentially improve precision and efficiency in staging, facilitating personalized treatment decisions.
