Safe and effective procedures in the perioral region rely on a clear understanding of the facial anatomy, as insufficient knowledge of this aspect can lead to severe complications. We performed thorough layer-by-layer dissections of the perioral region on 11 freshly formalinized cadaver heads. Dissections were performed between 2020 and 2022 in the dissection laboratory of the Anatomy Department, where the ethical conducts were regulated by "Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest, Romania, and fall under its jurisdiction.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe aim of this study consists of monitoring the effect of thermal aging on the physico-chemical and optical properties of poly(ester urethane) elastomers designed as damping materials for railways. The materials were obtained by polyaddition in two stages in melt, resulting in regular structures. The structural modifications during the thermal aging of the samples were monitored using FTIR, color changes, TGA in non-isothermal and isothermal conditions, DSC and physico-mechanical measurements.

Methods: we show the investigations: biomicroscopy of the fundus, tonometry, pachymetry, gonioscopy, perimetry, ultrasound biomicroscopy, optical coherence tomography of the anterior segment--that helped us to diagnose the angle-closure glaucoma and its pathogenic mechanism; we also show our choice for surgery--lens extraction--and our arguments for this choice.
Results: first postoperative day--intraocular pressure was 14 mmHg; a week postoperatively--intraocular pressure was 13 mmHg; three months postoperatively--intraocular pressure was 13 mmHg.
