Background: Advance care planning (ACP) is a process that involves patients expressing their personal goals, values, and future medical care preferences. Digital applications may help facilitate this process, though their use in older adults has not been adequately studied.
Objective: This pilot study aimed to evaluate the reach, adoption, and usability of Koda Health, a web-based patient-facing ACP platform, among older adults.
Asteroids with diameters less than about 5 km have complex histories because they are small enough for radiative torques (that is, YORP, short for the Yarkovsky-O'Keefe-Radzievskii-Paddack effect) to be a notable factor in their evolution. (152830) Dinkinesh is a small asteroid orbiting the Sun near the inner edge of the main asteroid belt with a heliocentric semimajor axis of 2.19 AU; its S-type spectrum is typical of bodies in this part of the main belt.

DART was the first hypervelocity impact experiment on an asteroid at size and velocity scales relevant to planetary defence, intended to validate kinetic impact as a means of asteroid deflection. Here we report a determination of the momentum transferred to an asteroid by kinetic impact.

Methods: This is a retrospective review of a palliative care database and the health record for all palliative care consultations of patients suffering from advanced stage head and neck cancer within a 21-month period.
Results: Ten head and neck cancer patients received palliative care consults while on the otolaryngology service.
Introduction: The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic highlighted the importance of understanding patients' goals, values, and medical care preferences given the high morbidity and mortality. We aimed to examine rates of advance care planning (ACP) documentation along with hospital course differences in the absence or presence of ACP among hospitalized patients with COVID-19.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study was performed at a single tertiary academic medical center.
Biofeedback (BF) training has been utilized with performers for years. Previous literature highlights the effectiveness of multi-week intervention protocols, but there is a lack of evidence for abbreviated interventions using portable devices and the performer's preference of these devices. Therefore, we investigated the effects of a brief BF intervention on mental workload, mood, arousal, and movement time and BF device preference.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of running stairs either 1 stair (1S) or 2 stairs (2S) at a time on power. Fourteen male college track and field athletes were randomized into 3 groups; 1S, 2S, or control (C).

However, previous studies have primarily focused on predetermined music and aerobic exercise. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of self-selected music (SSM) vs.

Surgical complications are not uncommon (approximately 30%); some can be attributed to poor preoperative planning and inadequate intraoperative position. Several authors have attempted to define the optimal position for ankle arthrodesis without objective multiplanar radiographic analysis and consistent reference points.

The purpose of this study was to compare the complication rates of this procedure in diabetic versus nondiabetic patients. There were 8 men and 11 women with preoperative diagnoses including Charcot neuroarthropathy, primary osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, equinocavovarus, posttraumatic osteoarthritis, gouty arthritis, and ankle malunion.

This adjunct to analgesia allows for reduced amounts of postoperative opioids and the undesirable and adverse effects associated with these drugs. The peripheral blocks are technically easy to perform and offer the surgical patient many hours of pain relief.

If left untreated, this process can lead to plantarplate and capsular attenuation and metatarsophalangeal joint instability. A retrospective analysis were performed on eight patients who were treated with a flexor tendon transfer for this condition.

Projectile mass, velocity, shape, construction, and the characteristics and anatomic constraints of the tissue penetrated determine the amount, type, and location of tissue disruption. The possibility of additional injuries caused by secondary missiles and cavitation must be understood to distinguish between conservative versus surgical care of the patient.
