The monozygotic twins, presented at the age of 22 months with acute megakaryoblastic leukaemia (AML-M7) in one and myelodysplasia transformed to AML-M7 in the other. More recently, various centers have recorded lower mortality rates of 4% to 7% for all attacks of acute pancreatitis and 20% to 50% for those regarded as severe.
Goals: To investigate whether there has been a reduction in mortality associated with acute pancreatitis over the past 20 years and the reasons for this reduction.
