Consequently, they may experience difficulty weaning from mechanical ventilation, which increases mortality and poses a high economic burden. Since the amount of visceral adipose tissue(VAT) rather than BMI mediates the health effects of obesity we aimed to investigate the association between visceral obesity, BMI and 90-day mortality in critically ill patients.
Method: In 555 critically ill patients (68% male), the VAT Index(VATI) was measured using Computed Tomography scans on the level of vertebra L3.
Background: The psychotherapy of depressive disorders has become established as a central component of inpatient treatment in psychiatric and psychosomatic hospitals and furthermore constitutes an important component of the residency training in Germany; however, the number of studies examining the effectiveness and efficacy is limited.
Methods: This narrative review summarizes the current state of research on inpatient psychotherapy for depressive disorders. The results of meta-analyses as well as practice-based observational studies from routine treatment in Germany, disorder-specific special programs, and side effects of inpatient psychotherapy are summarized.
Background: Delirium is a severe complication in critical care patients. Accurate prediction could facilitate determination of which patients are at risk. In the past decade, several delirium prediction models have been developed.

Methods: This retrospective analysis in 240 mechanically ventilated critically ill patients included adult patients in whom a computed tomography (CT) scan of the abdomen was made on clinical indication between 1 day before and 4 days after admission to the intensive care unit.
Objective: The most cost-effective dosing regimen for rituximab treatment in RA is currently unknown. The objective of this study is to determine whether low rituximab serum levels are associated with progression of structural damage in RA patients.
Methods: Sixty-two RA patients were treated with rituximab in three different centres.

Methods: Serum samples from 61 patients with anaphylactic reactions during anaesthesia were investigated.
The aim was comparing the capability of a set of analytical methods to detect physical instability (focus on aggregation and structural changes) of etanercept during thermal stress testing as early as possible. Pre-filled syringes of Enbrel® 50mg from three batches were thermally stressed for one week at 50°C. Samples were taken at days 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 7, and analyzed with high-performance liquid size exclusion chromatography (HP-SEC), SDS-PAGE gel electrophoresis, dynamic light scattering (DLS), light obscuration, extrinsic fluorescence (Bis-ANS), far-UV circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy, second derivative UV spectroscopy (UV), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).
