The rise and/or fall of cardiac troponins above the 99th percentile of the upper reference limit (URL) is required in the assessment of acute myocardial infarction.
Methods: We analyzed the variation between the Beckman Coulter contemporary cTnI AccuTnI+3 assay and high sensitivity cTnI (hs-cTnI) assay tested on DXI 800 using 424 patient specimens with troponin levels ranging from 0-16754 ng/L.
Understanding service disposition pathways is critical to provide deeper insight into why certain subgroups of the population are at risk for recurrent Child Protective Services (CPS) involvement and may highlight disparities across groups or geographic areas. Study Objective: Reproductive health counseling is important for youth with sickle cell disease (SCD) given that they experience potential infertility risks from SCD and its treatments and high rates of unplanned pregnancies. Thus, the objective of this study was to describe documented occurrences of reproductive health counseling among youth with SCD and examine differences in counseling by sociodemographic and treatment characteristics.
Methods: Data were abstracted from 167 electronic medical records of patients (age = 14-21, 54% female) with SCD (1/01/2015-12/31/19) at 2 sites (Nationwide Children's Hospital and Hassenfeld Children's Hospital at NYU Langone).

Objectives: This qualitative study examined how families share information and feelings about advanced pediatric cancer from the perspective of both parents and children, as well as how these perspectives vary by child developmental stage.
Methods: Participants (24 mothers, 20 fathers, 23 youth [children and adolescents]) were from a larger longitudinal study at an academic pediatric hospital. Eligible youth had advanced cancer (physician-estimated prognosis of <60%, relapse, or refractory disease), were aged 5-19 years (>8 years old to participate independently), had an English-speaking parent, and lived within 140 miles of the hospital.
Many childhood cancer survivors desire biological children but are at risk for infertility after treatment. One option for mitigating risk is the use of fertility preservation prior to gonadotoxic therapy. Adolescents and emerging adults may rely on their parents to help them decide whether to use fertility preservation.

As evidenced by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, 2 is produced by double intramolecular C-H activation of a putative nickel-nitridyl intermediate, [Cz (Pyr )Ni-⃛N]. Calculations support the generation of an intermediate with significant nitridyl radical character after the loss of N, which, in turn, undergoes tandem C-H activations, leading to functionalized intermediates and products.

The magnetic state of this cubic material is characterized by a 3-k non-collinear antiferromagnetic structure and multidomain Jahn-Teller distortions, likely related to its anisotropic thermal properties. Here we show that single crystals of uranium dioxide subjected to strong magnetic fields along threefold axes in the magnetic state exhibit the abrupt appearance of positive linear magnetostriction, leading to a trigonal distortion.

The migration barriers of the elementary mechanisms for interstitial or vacancy assisted migration are calculated in the DFT+U framework using the nudged elastic band method. A comprehensive set of density functional theory (DFT) calculations were used to study Xe and Kr incorporation at a number of sites in CeO2, ThO2, UO2 and PuO2. These structures were used to fit a potential, which was used to generate molecular dynamics (MD) configurations incorporating Xe and Kr at 300 K, 1500 K, 3000 K and 5000 K.
