Two monoclonal antibodies have been produced against the human 85,000-molecular-weight heat shock protein (hsp85). One of these, 16F1, cross-reacts with the murine homolog and is shown by peptide map immunoblots to be directed against an epitope different from that recognized by the other monoclonal antibody, 9D2. Both monoclonal antibodies recognize only a single Mr-85,000 species in two-dimensional immunoblots.

In a group of 20 immunosuppressed women with lower genital neoplasia, evidence of associated human papillomaviral infection was found in all patients on the basis of the histologic identification of koilocytes in the upper strata of areas of mild or moderate dysplasia. Immunohistochemical study of similar areas disclosed human papilloma structural antigens in the lesions in 60%, while 50% had lesions in which human papilloma virions were detected by the electron microscope. An abnormal immunologic status, indicated by an altered T-helper/T-suppressor ratio, a deficient response to mitogenic stimulation, or both, was confirmed in 80% of the patients studied.

We report a case of a calcified liver tumor in a 23 year old female patient who presented with virilization and a mild degree of Cushing's syndrome. Androgen levels were elevated; there was loss of cortisol circadian rhythm and marked increase in urinary 17-ketogenic and 17-ketosteroids which failed to suppress with administration of dexamethasone. Venous sampling by inferior vena cava catheterization showed that the highest steroid hormone levels were in blood from the right hepatic vein.
