Aggressive vascularized odontogenic myxoma. Case report and literature review.

Introduction And Importance: Odontogenic myxoma (OM) is an infrequent benign mesenchymal odontogenic tumor of the jaws composed of rounded and angular cells dispersed in an abundant mucoid stroma. An aggressive and vascularized presentation is unusual.

Case Presentation: A 68-year-old woman was evaluated for a mass located under the palate and extended to the cheek.

Introduction: Fibrinolytic agents (FA) activate the fibrinolytic system, converting plasminogen into plasmin to break down fibrin. Their use for irrigation of abdominal abscesses is debated, and this meta-analysis evaluates their efficacy.

Methods: We searched PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Central for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing FA and saline in percutaneous drainage of abdominal abscesses.

Introduction: Thyroid cancer is the most common cancer in women in Ecuador.

Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the demographics and clinical and treatment variables of patients with papillary or follicular thyroid cancer, referred to as differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC), treated at a third-level hospital in Quito, Ecuador.

Methods: We reviewed retrospectively the medical records of patients with DTC, who underwent surgical treatment, from 1990 to 2019.

Background: Appendix' anatomical variations are a rare occurrence which can mislead diagnosis and delay appropriate treatment.

Case Presentation: We present a 9-year-old female patient that came with a clinical picture compatible with acute appendicitis. However, a cecal mass was identified instead of an inflamed appendix during surgery.
