Because the discovery of the multivesicular body (MVB) as the origin of secreted vesicles or exosomes, the question arose and still looms-what distinguishes an MVB destined for fusion with the plasma membrane (EXO-MVB) facilitating exosome release from an MVB involved in transport of content to the lysosome (LYSO-MVB). The high-resolution infrared spectrum of the fundamental band ν (ring breathing) of the chiral molecule propylene oxide (CHCHCHO) was recorded at room temperature and under jet-cooled conditions using a quantum cascade laser at 8 μm. The observed lines with quantum numbers ≤ 55 and ≤ 21 were assigned to strong - and -type bands, and some low transitions were classified as weak -type transitions. The lines were fitted using a Watsons A-reduced Hamiltonian in the I representation.

Methods: Twenty-two semi-structured interviews were conducted with 12 patients (mean age 61 years, 7 male, 5 female) and 10 relatives (mean age 56 years, 3 male, 7 female). The relatives comprised of partners (n = 7), child (n = 1), sister (n = 1), or friend (n = 1).
In this contribution we report on a novel approach towards luminescent light-responsive ligands. To this end, cyanostilbene- guanidiniocarbonyl-pyrrole hybrids were designed and investigated. Merging of a luminophore with a supramolecular bioactive ligand bears numerous advantages by overcoming the typical drawbacks of drug-labelling, influencing the overall performance of the active species by attachment of a large luminophore.

We here report on a novel entity of massive multifocal osteolyses in both shoulders, the right hip and left knee joint and the dens of an 83-year-old patient not relatable to any previously known etiopathology of bone disorders. The soft tissue mass is of myxoid stroma with an unspecific granulomatous inflammatory process, aggressively destroying extensive cortical and cancellous bone segments and encroaching on articulating bones in diarthrodial large joints.

Patients with hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and/or cardiovascular disease have a significantly increased risk of developing CKD and rapid disease progression and should therefore be screened and monitored in accordance with the guidelines.
Objectives: The aim of this retrospective, cross-sectional study was to gain insights into appropriate diagnosis of patients at risk for CKD in German general practitioner practices.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) play a key role both in physiological balance and homeostasis and in disease processes through their ability to participate in intercellular signaling and communication. An ever-expanding knowledge pool and a myriad of functional properties ascribed to EVs point to a new language of communication in biological systems that has opened a path for the discovery and implementation of novel diagnostic applications.
