A process evaluation of the first year of Leading Change, Adding Value.

Background: Leading Change, Adding Value (LCAV) is a national framework to support transformational change across health and social care.

Design: a qualitative approach of semi-structured interviews was used to capture information on how LCAV has been disseminated in its early stages from the perspective of key stakeholders and partners. This also included looking at how it might be embedded into everyday practice.

Engaging student nurses in commissioning.

Commissioning is an important element of healthcare provision, but is often not understood or considered in depth by students. It is vital that the workforce of the future understands the machinations of service development and commissioning, so one higher education establishment decided to offer its students a placement in a clinical commissioning group. This article outlines how a university partnered with local CCGs and a regional placement network to develop the CCG clinical placement and its benefits.

Role of the CCG nurse in commissioning services.

This article explores the changing landscape of commissioning, the commissioning nurse role within clinical commissioning groups and how the role has evolved as a result of the NHS organisational changes. It uses the results from two surveys undertaken by the Commissioning Nurse Leaders network, run by NHS England, to gauge the confidence of nurses in commissioning and leadership roles.
