Overactive bladder: correlating symptoms with low cystometric capacity.

Objectives: : Overactive bladder (OAB) is a symptom complex that may be objectively assessed using urodynamic variables. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between OAB symptoms and low cystometric capacity (LCC).

Methods: : Between October and December 2005, 102 patients from the Urogynaecology Clinic at Mount Sinai Hospital participated in this prospectively planned, blinded, cross-sectional study.

Morbidity and mortality of patients with invasive group A streptococcal infections admitted to the ICU.

Study Objectives: To describe the clinical features and outcome of patients with invasive group A streptococcal (GAS) infections admitted to the ICU.

Design: Prospective, population-based surveillance for invasive GAS infections was conducted in Ontario from January 1992 until June 2002. All 62 patients meeting clinical and/or histopathologic criteria for invasive GAS who were admitted to the ICUs of four university-affiliated hospitals in Toronto, Canada were included.
