In an Aboriginal Community Controlled renal service, we aimed to: (i) design and implement a continuous quality improvement (CQI) approach to transplant suitability assessment, (ii) provide transplant suitability assessments for all patients of the service, (iii) describe what temporary contraindications to kidney transplantation should be the focus of health service improvements, (iv) explore participant experiences with the suitability assessment process, and (v) use our findings to inform pre- and post-transplant model of care development within Kimberley Renal Services.

Effect of a lower dose of intrathecal morphine on postoperative opioid consumption following cesarean delivery at a Texas level IV maternal care center.

Background: We hypothesized that patients who received a lower dose of intrathecal morphine (ITM) would have higher postoperative opioid consumption following cesarean delivery.

Methods: Patients who had cesarean deliveries from February 15, 2022, through February 14, 2024 at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Temple with single injection spinal or combined spinal epidural anesthesia who did not have labor epidural anesthesia were included. Introduction: Listening and communication difficulties can limit people's participation in activity and adversely affect their quality of life. Hearing, as well as listening and communication difficulties, can be measured either by using behavioural tests or self-report measures, and the outcomes are not always closely linked. The association between behaviourally measured and self-reported hearing is strong, whereas the association between behavioural and self-reported measures of listening and communication difficulties is much weaker, suggesting they assess different aspects of listening.

The effect of unisensory and multisensory information on lexical decision and free recall in young and older adults.

Studies using simple low-level stimuli show that multisensory stimuli lead to greater improvements in processing speed for older adults than young adults. However, there is insufficient evidence to explain how these benefits influence performance for more complex processes such as judgement and memory tasks. This study examined how presenting stimuli in multiple sensory modalities (audio-visual) instead of one (audio-only or visual-only) may help older adults to improve their memory and cognitive processing compared to young adults.

A 7-year-old girl presented with painful genital enlargement, which was first believed to be clitoromegaly of hormonal origin. However, on the physical exam the clitoris was not visible and the prepuce and labia minora were enlarged and tender. Carbonate rocks undergo low-temperature, post-depositional changes, including mineral precipitation, dissolution, or recrystallisation (diagenesis). Unravelling the sequence of these events is time-consuming, expensive, and relies on destructive analytical techniques, yet such characterization is essential to understand their post-depositional history for mineral and energy exploitation and carbon storage. Conversely, hyperspectral imaging offers a rapid, non-destructive method to determine mineralogy, while also providing compositional and textural information.

Parenting an Autistic Child: Experiences of Parents with Significant Autistic Traits.

Despite autism being highly heritable, this study is the first to investigate the experiences of parents of autistic children who have significant autistic traits themselves. Eight parents of autistic children with significant autistic traits themselves were interviewed regarding their parenting experiences. In line with what has previously been reported by parents of autistic children, participants described difficulties with parental mental health and navigating professional services.
