Article Synopsis
  • Clinician educators can develop effective procedural videos despite lacking video production expertise, as there is limited guidance available in clinical education resources.
  • The tutorial outlines a step-by-step process to create a medical procedural video, including preproduction, production, and postproduction phases, while highlighting the importance of quality elements such as clear learning outcomes and engagement.
  • A sample video, which took 70 hours to create, successfully integrated audio narration, closed captions, and an interactive quiz, demonstrating that effective educational videos rely on best practices and multimedia learning principles.

Background: Videos on Robotic pancreaticoduodenectomy (RPD) may be watched by surgeons learning RPD. This study sought to appraise the educational quality of RPD videos on YouTube.

Methods: One-hundred videos showing RPD or 'Robotic Whipple' were assessed using validated scales (LAP-VEGaS & Consensus Statement Score (CSS)).

Herbal plants can enhance immunity and alleviate oxidative stress in fish. Therefore, the present work was performed to evaluate the effects of bay laurel (Laurus nobilis) on growth, immunity, antioxidant activities, disease resistance, and hematology in Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). A total of 225 Nile tilapia fingerlings (average weight 15.

Objective: The purpose of this scoping review was to outline the extent of available literature including the prevalence of video quality appraisal tools, characterize how online videos were used, and identify the gaps in the literature with implications for future research.

Design: The review was conducted following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses for scoping reviews (PRISMA-ScR). Six databases were searched: (1) MEDLINE (Ovid), (2) EMBASE, (3) Cochrane, (4) ERIC, (5) CINAHL PLUS, and (6) Google Scholar for Medical Subject Headings terms online videos, postgraduate health education, and health professional/s.

Transseptal puncture (TSP) is performed to access the left side of the heart from the venous circulation. Performed under fluoroscopy with echocardiographic guidance, it is a procedure associated with complications. Pneumopericardium leading to cardiac tamponade is rare following TSP.

Background: Ventricular septal rupture (VSR), a mechanical complication of myocardial infarction (MI), usually presents with rapid clinical deterioration with acute heart failure or cardiogenic shock. VSR may occur within 24 h to several days after MI and can occur in both anterior and inferior wall MI. Although guidelines recommend emergent surgery, this is associated with a high mortality rate of up to 40%.

Chip floorplanning is the engineering task of designing the physical layout of a computer chip. Despite five decades of research, chip floorplanning has defied automation, requiring months of intense effort by physical design engineers to produce manufacturable layouts. Here we present a deep reinforcement learning approach to chip floorplanning.

High-grade pediatric brain tumors exhibit the highest cancer mortality rates in children. While conventional MRI has been widely adopted for examining pediatric high-grade brain tumors clinically, accurate neuroimaging detection and differentiation of tumor histopathology for improved diagnosis, surgical planning, and treatment evaluation, remains an unmet need in their clinical management. We employed a novel Diffusion Histology Imaging (DHI) approach employing diffusion basis spectrum imaging (DBSI) derived metrics as the input classifiers for deep neural network analysis.

(alternately referred to as v-raf murine sarcoma viral oncogene homolog B1) is a proto-oncogene involved in the mitogen-activated protein kinase () pathway. alterations are most commonly missense mutations or aberrant fusions. These mutations are observed in numerous primary central nervous system tumors as well as metastases.

Article Synopsis
  • A study on patients with prosthetic valve thrombosis shows that many have a high prothrombin time international normalized ratio (INR) at diagnosis, making traditional surgery risky but fibrinolysis possible.
  • Of the 30 patients observed, 70% were treated with immediate fibrinolysis, while 30% had delayed treatment, with those delayed showing a trend toward lower bleeding and similar mortality rates compared to those treated immediately.
  • The results suggest that delayed fibrinolysis and using a low-dose infusion can reduce bleeding risks and improve valve function restoration without increasing the risk of serious complications like ischaemic stroke.

Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the upper and lower pharyngeal airway dimensions were affected by different skeletal malocclusions.

Materials And Methods: Lateral cephalograms of 120 subjects were used to measure the pharyngeal airway and were divided into three groups (each group included 40 subjects) according to ANB angle: Class I (ANB angle 2° ≤ ANB ≤ 4°), Class II (ANB angle(ANB ≥ 6°), and Class III (ANB angle ≤ 0°). Various linear cephalometric airway measurements (14 measurements) were used to evaluate pharyngeal airway at various levels.

The mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1) senses nutrient sufficiency and cellular stress. When mTORC1 is inhibited, protein synthesis is reduced in an intricate process that includes a concerted down-regulation of genes encoding rRNA and ribosomal proteins. The high-mobility group protein Hmo1p has been implicated in coordinating this response to mTORC1 inhibition.

There have been no published recommendations for the management of low-risk chest pain in emergency departments (EDs) across India. This is despite the fact that chest pain continues to be one of the most common presenting complaints in EDs. Risk stratification of patients utilizing an accelerated diagnostic protocol has been shown to decrease hospitalizations by approximately 40% with a low 30-day risk of major adverse cardiac events.

Objectives: The aim of the present study was to study the feasibility and approaches to device closure of ruptured sinus of Valsalva (RSOV). We have compared the advantages and disadvantages of different devices and techniques and discussed complications which might occur during or after the procedure.

Background: There are only a few case series of transcatheter closure of RSOV, with most cases being traditionally referred for surgery.

The protein product of Saccharomyces cerevisiae DFG5 gene is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored plasma membrane protein and a putative glycosidase/glycosyltransferase that links other GPI-anchored proteins to β-glucans in the cell wall. Upon exposure to heat (41°C), DFG5 deletion mutant dfg5Δ displayed significantly enhanced heat tolerance as well as lowered level of reactive oxygen species and decreased membrane permeability compared with those in the control (BY4741). Comparative transcriptome profiles of BY4741 and dfg5Δ revealed that 38 and 23 genes were up- and down-regulated in dfg5Δ respectively.

A 56-year-old man was diagnosed to be having enteric fever elsewhere and put on antibiotics. Despite therapy over 3 months, this patient had recurrent bouts of fever with chills, tiredness, and lower abdominal pain, distension, and vomiting with which he was admitted to our hospital. CT abdomen and pelvis showed significant wall thickening in the cecum and terminal ileum, with marked luminal narrowing and marked dilatation of proximal small bowel loops.
