Background: The sympathetic autonomic nervous system plays a major role in arrhythmia development and maintenance. Historical preclinical studies describe preferential increases in cardiac sympathetic tone upon selective stimulation of the subclavian ansae (SA), a nerve cord encircling the subclavian artery.

Background: Remaking Recess (RR) is a school-based evidence-based peer social engagement intervention for autistic students. RR involves direct training and coaching with educators; however, educators face several barriers to implementation at both the individual- and organizational-levels. This protocol paper describes a multi-site study that will test whether an educator-level implementation strategy, coaching, with or without a school-level implementation strategy, school-based teams, will maximize educators' use (fidelity and sustainment) of RR for autistic students and their peers who are socially-isolated, rejected, or peripheral and may need additional support during recess.

The gastrointestinal tract is a prominent portal of entry for HIV-1 during sexual or perinatal transmission, as well as a major site of HIV-1 persistence and replication. Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R) and neuropeptide Y receptors (NPYRs) are expressed in reproductive tissues contributing to the regulation of gonadal function. This exploratory study examines the potential impact of their modulation by assessing the effects of exendin-4 (Ex-4) and peptide YY (PYY) (3-36) on endocrine ovaries and adrenals in high-fat diet (HFD) mice. Ex-4 and PYY(3-36) reduced blood glucose and energy intake, with no effects on body weight.

Background: Myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease (MOGAD) is an immune-mediated, inflammatory, demyelinating disorder with a range of clinical presentations including acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM), optic neuritis (ON), myelitis, and cerebral cortical encephalitis. Developmental causes of the most common arrhythmia, atrial fibrillation (AF), are poorly defined, with compensation potentially masking arrhythmic risk. Here, we delete 9 amino acids (Δ9) within a conserved domain of the giant protein titin's A-band in zebrafish and human-induced pluripotent stem cell-derived atrial cardiomyocytes (hiPSC-aCMs). We find that zebrafish embryos' cardiac morphology is perturbed and accompanied by reduced functional output, but ventricular function recovers within days.
