Purpose: Inoperable locally advanced breast cancers (LABCs) are treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy. We studied the use of neoadjuvant concurrent chemoradiation (NACCRT) in patients with inoperable LABC.

Methods And Materials: From May 2017 to December 2021, the study recruited patients with stage III inoperable LABC.

Purpose: There are sparse data on the outcome of patients with locally advanced breast cancer (LABC). This report is on the prognostic factors and long-term outcome from Cancer Institute, Chennai.

Methods: This is an analysis of untreated patients with LABC (stages IIIA-C) who were treated from January 2006 to December 2013.

Mitochondrial ribosomal small subunit proteins (MRPS) MRPS6 and MRPS23 show dysregulation in breast cancer affecting tumorigenic cellular processes.

Human Mitoribosomal Small Subunit unit (MRPS) family of genes appears to have role in cancer. Gene expression analysis of select MRPS genes (n = 9) in 15 cancer cell lines showed altered expression in cancer cells. Protein levels of MRPS6, MRPS23 showed significant overexpression in breast cancer cells and tissues.

Identification and validation of differential plasma proteins levels in epithelial ovarian cancer.

Diagnosis of Ovarian cancer (OC) has been a challenge, the purpose, therefore is to identify plasma proteins differentially expressed in epithelial ovarian cancer patients. Human plasma samples from patients with OC (n = 138), benign tumors (n = 20) and controls (n = 238) were used. Tandem Mass Tag (TMT) based quantitative analysis by high resolution mass spectrometry, was followed by validation using Quantibody array and ELISA techniques.

Expression of cancer stem cell markers CD24, EPHA1 and CD9 and their correlation with clinical outcome in epithelial ovarian tumours.

Background: There has been variability between laboratories in the identification of cancer stem cells (CSCs) markers for epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). We have evaluated three new surface markers for EOC to identify CSCs precisely.

Methods: Three new putative CSCs specific surface markers CD9, CD24 and EPHA1 identified by a bioinformatics approach were evaluated in normal ovary, fallopian tube and ovarian tumours.

Microvessel Density (MVD) in Locally Advanced Breast Cancer.

Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate microvessel density (MVD) by expression of CD31 and CLEC14A in core biopsies from previously untreated patients with locally advanced breast cancer (LABC) and assess its prognostic significance. Methods: MVD was evaluated in core needle biopsies (n = 92), collected prior to any treatment, from patients who were diagnosed with locally advanced breast cancer (LABC). Immunohistochemistry for expression of CD31 and CLEC14A were performed on these tumours.
