Introduction: The purpose of this study was to determine whether balance and harmony of the face, when seen as a whole, alter the smile perception as compared to a lone standing smile in female subjects of two age groups and to identify parameters of dental composition and dentofacial harmony associated with the smile perception of dental specialists (DS) and laypeople (LP).
Settings And Design: A cross-sectional study.
Materials And Methods: Twenty-nine DS and 29 LP scored the smile attractiveness of 84 full-face images (FFIs) and corresponding smile images (SIs) of young adults (YA: 20-29 years) and old adults (OA: 50-59 years), using the Visual Analogue Scale.

Burn injuries have a major impact on the physical and functional aspects of patients, thereby affecting their quality of life. Nasal stenosis which occurs as a result of wound contraction may lead to serious complications if not intervened at the earliest. In the prosthodontic front, nasal stents may be utilized in conjunction with reconstructive surgery procedures to minimize scar contraction and prevent nasal stenosis.

In Porcelain Fused to Metal (PFM) crowns, low cusp inclination and occlusal contacts limited to central fossa ensure axially directed forces on an implant but often pose esthetic and functional challenges. It is theorized that resilient Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) crowns have shock absorption capacity for favorable stress distribution.

When used along with medicaments whether these medicaments help to improve the absorption of fluid or affect the fluid absorption by decreasing the efficiency of the retraction cord is unknown.
Aim: The aim of the study was to know the effect of various medicaments on the fluid absorbency of the retraction cords and also, to know whether the thickness of the retraction cords influences it's fluid absorbency.
Introduction: The dimensional stability of the impression material could have an influence on the accuracy of the final restoration. Vinyl Polysiloxane Impression materials (VPS) are most frequently used as the impression material in fixed prosthodontics. As VPS is hydrophobic when it is poured with gypsum products, manufacturers added intrinsic surfactants and marketed as hydrophilic VPS.

Today with greater stress on preventive measures, the dental profession has expanded this preventive concept into Prosthodontics. Preventive Prosthodontics emphasizes the importance of any procedure that can delay or eliminate the future Prosthodontic problem and stop further progression of oral disease and prevent the loss of remaining tissues.

Papillon-Lefèvre syndrome (PLS) is a rare autosomal recessive disorder, characterized by diffuse palmoplantar keratoderma and precocious aggressive periodontitis, leading to premature loss of deciduous and permanent dentition at a very young age. Various etiopathogenic factors are associated with the syndrome, like immunologic alterations, genetic mutations, and the role of bacteria. Dentists play a significant role in the diagnosis and management of PLS as there are characteristic manifestations like periodontal destruction at an early age and an early eruption of permanent teeth.
