The nematode parasite () has a global distribution and is commonly reported in rodents (definitive host), dogs, cats and wild animals. Humans especially children are more susceptible to the parasitic infection. This paper documents an incidental finding of hepatic calodiosis with cirrhosis in a stray dog and discusses the zoonotic implications.

Purpose: Assessment of teeth to estimate age in the living as well as the dead is well documented in the literature. Though applied in conjunction with other parameters in Gustafson's technique, attrition of teeth solely is an underexplored indicator for age estimation mainly in India. Most of the studies using attrition of teeth have been conducted in bioarchaeology, and in populations where studies are being conducted in forensic contexts, the results are debatable.

This study evaluated and compared cell surface changes and activity, integrin beta 1, and β-actin mRNA fold changes as well as klotho protein secretion capabilities of PDLC from young and adult donors before and after subjecting to orthodontic forces.
Methods: A total of 40 subjects with bimaxillary dentoalveolar protrusion requiring extraction of first premolars for orthodontic treatment were selected and divided into two groups.

Genetic variants at heat shock protein 70 gene and their influence on heat stress (HS) tolerance were studied among selected Nigeria zebu, namely, 25 White Fulani (WF), 21 Sokoto Gudali (SG), 21 Red Bororo (RB), and 23 Ambala (AM). Detection of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) followed by determination of genotype and genotypic frequency was made among the selected breeds. The heat tolerance coefficient (HTC) was determined from thermo-related parameters including body temperature, rectal temperature, and respiratory rate.

Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of HSP 90 gene were used to evaluate the scientific basis of heat tolerance in four zebu breeds of Nigeria. The DNA was extracted from skin tissue of 90 adult bulls representing White Fulani (WF), Sokoto Gudali (SG), Red Bororo (RB), and Ambala (AM).

In vitro bioassays, namely Petri dish and olfactometer assays, were employed to estimate the level of attraction of the various stages of Rhipicephalus sanguineus sensu lato, namely unfed and engorged (fed) larvae, nymphs, females, and males to the different pheromones. The study revealed that only the Petri dish assay was suitable to evaluate the response of larval stages whereas the olfactometer bioassay could also be used for evaluating the response of all other stages.

Four animals showed eruptions on the lateral thoracic and dorsal abdominal regions of the body after 15-day period of quarantine. Manual palpation of the eruptions resulted in the emergence of larval stages of dipteran flies, identified by their morphology as Hypoderma from these animals.

The present study was undertaken to investigate the prevalence and staining characteristics of Blastocystis isolated from food animals. Smears of the duodenal and caecal mucosal scrapings, collected from food animals, were stained with Giemsa, Gram's, modified acid-fast and acridine orange. Blastocystis was identified in 295 samples, including faeces and intestinal contents of animals like small ruminants (95), poultry (170) and pigs (30).

Four samples consisting of 3 numbers of sheep and 1 number of goat tissues out of 14 samples detected by B1 PCR, were genotyped at SAG3 locus by nested polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism technique (nPCR-RFLP).
