Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a type of lung disease marked by permanent damage to tissues in the lungs. Over time, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) can make breathing difficult due to permanent lung damage. COPD encompasses two main conditions chronic bronchitis, where inflammation and scarring narrow the large airways, and emphysema, where the tiny air sacs in the lungs are damaged.

Certain hyperaccumulator plants can effectively mitigate heavy metals, organic compounds, and radioactive substances through absorption, adsorption, and transformation. This method offers a cost-effective and esthetically pleasing alternative to traditional remediation techniques, contributing to the restoration of contaminated ecosystems.

Management of such 'pseudo-psychiatric' illnesses can be complicated due to the disruptive behaviour of the patients and/or lack of appropriate response to treatment. In this case series, we present three cases, each of which was initially diagnosed as a psychiatric illness but was later found to have an underlying neurological disorder.

The aim of this study was to analyze the flap characteristics in the regional population and was planned as a cadaveric dissection study. Thirty-three legs of fresh cadavers were studied for perforator characteristics, length, and origin of pedicle and skin paddle thickness.

Higher environmental temperature shortens DENV extrinsic incubation period in mosquitoes, increases human transmission, and plays a critical role in outbreak dynamics. In the present study, we looked at the effect of temperature in altering the virus virulence.

Background: COVID19 pandemic caused considerable mortality and had a huge impact on the health system and the world economy. In this context, it is important to characterize the demographic and clinical features of the fatal cases and to have a basic understanding on the additional burden caused by COVID19 on the health care system.
Methods: Mortality reports of 408 patients who were diagnosed with COVID-19 in Ernakulam district during the period of 28th March 2020 - the day which reported the first COVID19 death in the district- till 28 February 2021 were collected using a uniform reporting format prepared by the district COVID19 surveillance unit.
There were reports of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection cases among health-care workers from all around the world. We did a cross sectional study among 533 COVID19 affected health-care workers. About 87.

Like all other countries and territories, the Ernakulam district (Kerala, India) is affected by COVID-19. When the number of COVID-19 cases reported in the other states started coming down, the Ernakulam district continued to record a large number of cases.

Materials And Methods: A total of 120 cylindrical specimens of permanent silicone-based soft liners were prepared from a custom made metal mold with dimensions of 15 mm × 10 mm, of which 60 specimens were fabricated using Voco™ and the remaining 60 specimens with Molossil™ permanent denture liners. All specimens were divided into four major groups based on cleansing treatments, comprising 30 specimens each.
Background: Autoinflammatory disorders are the group of inherited inflammatory disorders caused due to the genetic defect in the genes that regulates innate immune systems. These have been clinically characterized based on the duration and occurrence of unprovoked fever, skin rash, and patient's ancestry. There are several autoinflammatory disorders that are found to be prevalent in a specific population and whose disease genetic epidemiology within the population has been well understood.

AD probes are classified into photoinduced electron transfer (PET) and non-PET-based dyes, wherein the electrochemical properties and photophysical and photochemical behavior vary significantly based on the nature of substituent groups and the nature of the solute. The oxidation potential of PET dye (ADR1) to that of non-PET-based dye (ADR2) differs significantly such that the addition of amino acids results in a shift of the oxidation peak to a less positive potential and the reduction peak to a lesser negative potential.

We analyzed whole genomes of 1029 Indian individuals (IndiGen) to understand the extent of drug-gene (pharmacogenetic), drug-drug and drug-drug-gene interactions associated with COVID-19 therapy in the Indian population. We identified 30 clinically significant pharmacogenetic variants and 73 predicted deleterious pharmacogenetic variants.

India encompasses more than 17% of the world population with extensive genetic diversity, but is under-represented in the global sequencing datasets. This gave us the impetus to perform and analyze the whole genome sequencing of 1029 healthy Indian individuals under the pilot phase of the 'IndiGen' program.

Materials And Methods: Patients requiring postoperative radiation for gynecological malignancies were prospectively randomized to either treatment with supine position (supine arm) or prone position using belly board (prone arm). Each patient underwent computed tomography simulation in the assigned treatment position, and a three-dimensional conformal radiation was planned.
Background: Endodontically treated teeth have significantly different physical and mechanical properties compared to vital teeth and are more prone to fracture. The study aims to compare the fracture resistance of endodontically treated teeth with and without post reinforcement, custom cast post-core and prefabricated post with glass ionomer core and to evaluate the ferrule effect on endodontically treated teeth restored with custom cast post-core.
Materials And Methods: A total of 40 human maxillary central incisors with similar dimensions devoid of any root caries, restorations, previous endodontic treatment or cracks were selected from a collection of stored extracted teeth.
This case report deals with the interdisciplinary approach of a 28-year-old lady with Amelogenesis imperfecta of the hypoplastic kind. The patient came with a chief illness of worn out teeth, unsatisfactory esthetics and severe sensitivity of teeth. Her family history revealed a related situation in her father's brother and her sister.

Hyperdontia is an increased number of teeth within the dental arches. This is of particular interest to pediatric dentists who commonly make the initial diagnosis. Most often a large portion of these teeth is completely embedded or impacted within the jaws and can be viewed only radiographically.

Polycystic disease of the kidney, inherited as an autosomal dominant trait is characterised by progressive expansion of numerous fluid-filled cysts resulting in massive enlargement of the kidneys ultimately resulting in kidney failure. An understanding of alterations in the renal physiology due to hemodynamic changes is important for successful perioperative management. We report a successful perioperative management of a vaginal hysterectomy in a female patient with adult polycystic kidney disease.

Co-occurrence of multiple anomalies in a permanent mandibular central incisor is extremely rare. This paper reports an unusual concurrent combination of multiple dental anomalies affecting both the crown and root of a permanent mandibular left central incisor - talon cusp, dens invaginatus, short root anomaly and macrodontia -, which has not previously been reported together.

These parameters are used to explain the nature of intermolecular interactions taking place in the binary mixture. The above study is helpful in understanding the dye/solvent interaction at different concentration and temperatures.
