Objective: To describe the technical aspects of emergency tracheostomy in a case of extensive neck swelling with a challenging airway.
Methods: We report a case of difficult tracheostomy in a patient with a huge neck swelling causing obscured anatomical landmarks in significant stridor. A literature review was performed to identify similar cases or techniques.
Total laryngectomy remains an essential treatment for locally advanced laryngeal carcinoma. However, it involves lifestyle changes for the patient, such as the inability to communicate verbally, breathing or aesthetic changes, which affect their quality of life and require comprehensive rehabilitation. Speech rehabilitation is of utmost importance for these patients.

'Ulcero-membranous lesions over tonsil' is a special entity, which puzzles every physician and surgeon because of it's diverse etiology. Every insult to the tonsil heals by ulcer and later membrane formation. A retrospective study has been conducted at our institute to analyse the cases of ulcero-membranous lesions of tonsil in terms of etiology, clinical features, diagnosis, treatment protocols and outcome in an Indian context.
