Effects of age and season on conception rate of Mediterranean Italian Dairy Buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) following oestrus synchronization and fixed-time artificial insemination.

The objective of this project was to report the effects of season and age on conception rate amongst Italian Mediterranean Buffalo subjected to an Ovsynch/Resynch (O/R) reproductive management protocol. The study utilized nulliparous (heifers), primiparous buffalo cows (PBC) and multiparous buffalo cows (MBC). The primiparous and multiparous groups were subjected to the synchronization protocol throughout the entire year, but heifers were synchronized and inseminated only during the spring/summer seasons.

Comparison of thallium-201 SPECT redistribution patterns and rubidium-82 PET rest-stress myocardial blood flow imaging.

To compare regional thallium-201 SPECT redistribution patterns with rubidium-82 PET, we studied 81 patients with both imaging modalities. Sixty patients had significant coronary artery disease. All patients underwent PET imaging after dipyridamole infusion, while SPECT imaging was performed after exercise stress (38 patients) and dipyridamole (43 patients).

Comparison of rubidium-82 positron emission tomography and thallium-201 SPECT imaging for detection of coronary artery disease.

The diagnostic performance of rubidium-82 (Rb-82) positron emission tomography (PET) and thallium-201 (Tl-201) single-photon emission-computed tomography (SPECT) for detecting coronary artery disease was investigated in 81 patients (52 men, 29 women). PET studies using 60 mCi of Rb-82 were performed at baseline and after intravenous infusion of 0.56 mg/kg dipyridamole in conjunction with handgrip stress.

Assessment of the radionuclide angiographic left ventricular maximum time-varying elastance calculation in man.

This investigation was designed to determine whether left ventricular (LV) maximum time-varying elastance (Emax) calculations obtained using equilibrium radionuclide angiography (RNA) were comparable to those obtained using biplane contrast cineangiography (CINE), and whether simple, indirect P-V relations might provide reasonable, alternative estimates of Emax. Accordingly, we studied 19 patients with simultaneous high-fidelity micromanometer LV and fluid brachial artery (Ba) pressure recordings, CINE, and RNA under control conditions and during methoxamine and nitroprusside infusions. Emax was defined for CINE and RNA as the maximum slope of the linear relation of isochronal, instantaneous P-V data points obtained from each of the three loading conditions.
