An Unusual Case of Acute Thrombosis of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm without Acute Limb Ischemia.

Acute thrombosis of an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a rare and often devastating complication with high morbidity and mortality. In some cases, however, it may be associated with a silent course without signs of acute limb ischemia. The aim of this report is to describe an unusual case of acute thrombosis of AAA without signs of acute limb ischemia.

Bilateral Endograft Limb Occlusion after Endovascular Aortic Repair: Predictive Factors of Occurrence.

Background: Bilateral limb occlusion after endovascular aortic repair (EVAR) is relatively uncommon. The aim of this study was to investigate the incidence of bilateral endograft limb occlusion after EVAR and identify potential anatomical predictive factors of occurrence.

Methods: A total of 579 patients underwent elective EVAR for abdominal aortic aneurysm between January 2010 and December 2015.

Acute Early Carotid Stent Thrombosis: A Case Series.

Background: Acute early carotid stent thrombosis (AcuteCST) is a rare complication after carotid artery stenting (CAS). The purpose of this retrospective study was to investigate the incidence, causes, and optimal management of AcuteCST.

Methods: Medical records of all patients undergoing CAS between 2008 and 2016 were retrospectively reviewed.

Endovascular management of infected iliofemoral pseudoaneurysms - a systematic review.

We conducted a systematic review regarding the efficacy and outcome of endovascular treatment of infected iliofemoral arterial pseudoaneurysms with covered stents. 35 cases were identified, including 5 own. 22 pseudoaneurysms were located in the femoral area and 13 in the iliac vessels.

Treatment of Type II Endoleak and Aneurysm Expansion after EVAR.

Background: The management of type II endoleak causing sac enlargement continues to be a topic of debate. The purpose of this study was to examine and compare the outcomes between open surgical technique with sacotomy and suturing of the feeding vessels to interventional embolization in patients with aneurysm sac expansion after endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR).

Methods: Inclusion criteria for intervention in patients with prior EVAR and type II endoleak were asymptomatic expanding aneurysm sac > 5 mm between 2 consecutive follow-up computed tomography angiography scans and symptomatic aneurysm sac expansion.

Acute Carotid Stent Thrombosis: A Comprehensive Review.

Acute carotid stent thrombosis (ACST) is a rare complication that can lead to dramatic and catastrophic consequences. A rapid diagnosis and prompt recanalization of the internal carotid artery are needed to minimize the ischemic insult and the reperfusion injury. We reviewed the current literature on this devastating complication of CAS with the intention of investigating the potential causative factors and to define the appropriate management.

Endovascular Management of Infected Iliofemoral Pseudoaneurysms: A Case Series.

The treatment of infected iliofemoral pseudoaneurysms is challenging and controversial. We present our experience regarding the efficacy and outcome of endovascular treatment of infected iliofemoral arterial pseudoaneurysms with covered stents. Our experience with 5 cases showed that stent grafting combined with antibiotic therapy and provisional drainage may be a safe and effective option in patients with cancer, patients with history of multiple hip revisions, and drug-addicted users.

Anaphylactic Reaction During Implantation of the Ovation Stent-Graft System in a Patient With Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm.

Purpose: To describe a case of anaphylactic reaction during implantation of the Ovation Abdominal Stent Graft System in a patient treated for abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA).

Case Report: An 82-year-old man with a 5.3-cm asymptomatic AAA underwent endovascular repair using an Ovation stent-graft.
