Objectives: Tested the prospective relationship of a resilient personality prototype determined prior to disability onset to well-being among persons with and without debilitating functional impairments nine to 10 years later. A resilient profile was expected to predict well-being through its beneficial associations with positive affect, perceived control and social support.
Design: Longitudinal, prospective observation study.
Research emphasises the need for mutual understanding of feedback purpose, i.e. staff and student feedback literacy.

Indeed, some evidence suggests medical training inherently conflicts with CWU in emphasizing pedagogies focussing on "fixing" the problem. While referral patterns increase significantly, dealing with uncertainty has direct implications for patient referral rates and use of valuable healthcare resources.

By exploring their perspective, we aimed to develop a framework to inform good practice around social media use for HCPs.
Design: This was a qualitative study using a phenomenological framework.
There are differing views on how learners' feedback-seeking behaviours (FSB) develop during training. With globalisation has come medical student migration and programme internationalisation. Western-derived educational practices may prove challenging for diverse learner populations.

Aims: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a remediation program for final year medical students who failed their first long case assessment (LCA1) and to compare their academic performance with their peers who passed their first long case assessment.
Methods: The study consisted of two phases.
Introduction: While feedback aims to support learning, students frequently struggle to use it. In studying feedback responses there is a gap in explaining them in relation to learning theory. This study explores how feedback experiences influence medical students' self-regulation of learning.

Clinicians spend a considerable part of their time while supervising trainees providing feedback. It is generally accepted that feedback can play a major role in subsequent academic performance. Traditionally it was thought that all feedback was good feedback, that inevitably improved learner outcomes.

Positive psychology variables with clear linkages to existing psychological interventions were examined as potential mediators of the resilience-well-being relationship. Research Method and Design: A cross-sectional, self-report study was conducted.

Currently, there are no therapies for NAFLD that have been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. Herein, we examine the rationale for using ω3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) in NAFLD therapy.

Design: Longitudinal, prospective observation study.
Methods: Data obtained from emerging adults in the Add Health project with a CHC and completed study measures at two time points (286 men, 459 women) were examined.

Aims: The safety and feasibility of combining percutaneous catheter ablation (CA) for atrial fibrillation with left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) as a single procedure in the USA have not been investigated. We analyzed the US National Readmission Database (NRD) to investigate the incidence of combined LAAO + CA and compare major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs) with matched LAAO-only and CA-only patients.
Methods And Results: In this retrospective study from NRD data, we identified patients undergoing combined LAAO and CA procedures on the same day in the USA from 2016 to 2019.
Wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) has been suggested as a useful tool to predict the emergence and investigate the extent of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). In this study, we screened appropriate population biomarkers for wastewater SARS-CoV-2 normalization and compared the normalized SARS-CoV-2 values across locations with different demographic characteristics in southeastern Michigan. Wastewater samples were collected between December 2020 and October 2021 from nine neighborhood sewersheds in the Detroit Tri-County area.

To investigate the relationship between SARS-CoV-2 concentrations in wastewater and COVID-19 incidence in communities, a 12-month study between September 1, 2020, and August 31, 2021, prior to the Omicron surge, was conducted. 407 untreated wastewater samples were collected from the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) in southeastern Michigan.

Long QT3 syndrome type 3 results in an increase in arrhythmic events during rest, sleep, and bradycardia by extending the QT interval and inducing Torsades de pointes and sudden cardiac death. Attempting to block the sodium channel with Class I anti-arrhythmics or blocking adrenergic tone with beta-blockers especially in women has shown to be beneficial.

This review maps what is known of how learners interact with feedback, to better understand how feedback affects learning strategies, and to explore enhancing and inhibiting factors.
Methods: Pilot searching indicated a wide range of interpretations of feedback and study designs, prompting the use of scoping methodology.

Background: Left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) devices have become a favorable alternative option among nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (AF) patients with long-term contraindication to anticoagulation. Real-world experience with postprocedural readmission rates and predictors of readmission in LAAO patients is limited.
Objective: To assess all-cause 30-day readmission rate and predictors of readmission after LAAO procedure in the United States.
Introduction: Simulation has been used in medicine to train clinicians to manage a variety of clinical scenarios. A key adaptation of the use of simulation in military healthcare occurred in 2015 with the development of the STOMP (Simulation Training for Operational Medical Providers) curriculum, a specific curriculum designed for the intern (PGY-1) trained physicians being sent into the military to practice primary care. Despite showing the curriculum's influence on self-perceived comfort scores, no study has determined whether simulation is an effective means of improving general medical officer (GMO) physicians' skills compared to other traditional styles of education.

The most drastic remodeling occurs in species with invasively implanting embryos, including humans and mice. During embryo implantation, embryonic trophoblasts breach the epithelium, penetrating into the stroma.

Seventeen bis-urea positional isomers, with different binding conformations and lipophilicities, have been synthesized by appending α- or β-thiophene or α-, β-, or γ-benzo[b]thiophene moieties to an ortho-phenylenediamine central core, yielding six subsets of positional isomers. Through H NMR, X-ray crystallography, molecular modelling, and anion efflux studies, it is demonstrated that the most active transporters adopt a pre-organized binding conformation capable of promoting the recognition of chloride, using urea and C-H binding groups in a cooperative fashion.

NAFLD ranges in severity from benign steatosis to nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), cirrhosis, and primary hepatocellular cancer (HCC). Obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) are strongly associated with NAFLD, and the western diet (WD) is a major contributor to the onset and progression of these chronic diseases.
