[Delphi-Study: Evaluation of the new job profile "Chief Digital Officer" in German hospitals].

Introduction: The main objective of the present study was to analyze the new job profile "Chief Digital Officer (CDO) in German hospitals". Here, best practices for the introduction of the job profile should be determined and the need for a CDO position to execute the digital transformation should be evaluated.

Methods: A standardized three-stage online Delphi process (expert consensus finding) followed by a roundtable discussion was performed, including 16 experts.

Motion-insensitive volume-selective pulse sequences for direct and proton-detected 13C spectroscopy: detection of glycogen in the human liver in vivo.

Two compact pulse sequences are reported for the volume-selective detection of 13C nuclei. 13C signals are either directly acquired after enhancing the amplitude by polarization transfer from the coupled protons or, preferably, indirectly detected by heteronuclear editing of proton signals of 1H nuclei coupled to 13C. In the latter case, the full sensitivity of proton resonance is achieved, and signals from uncoupled protons or protons coupled to non-13C nuclei or 13C nuclei of undesired compounds are suppressed.

[Defective shaft positioning in medullary nailing as a result of play of the nail--a biomechanical analysis].

The influence of the nail wall thickness on the stress distribution is shown for the AO-nail as well as the Küntscher-nail. The quality of the analytical solution is proved by demonstrating that the presence of the slot in the nail does not shift the bending stresses merely. The gap between nail and bone is shown to be responsible for misalignments in the fracture.

[Theoretical studies on stress protection in fractures treated by osteosynthesis].

Using a simple model geometry the effect of stress protection in a bone caused by combination with a metal plate is studied. It is found that no global stress protection exists in any case. The stresses in the bone can be higher than in the homogeneous bone without any reinforcement.

[Biomechanical studies of bone treated with intramedullary nailing, with special reference to possible axis deviations].

The effect of a misalignement of a nailed bone on the stress distribution in the cross section is shown theoretically. Also for pure axial loading of the bone a superposed bending due to the misalignement produces large tension stresses as well in the nail as in the bone, when the fracture is not healed. After healing the stresses in the nail and in the bone are reduced striking.

Characterization of the mobility of various chemical groups in the purple membrane of Halobacterium halobium by 13C, 31P and 2H solid state NMR.

Lyophilized purple membrane sheets have been investigated by C-13- and P-31-cross polarization/magic angle spinning NMR spectroscopy. The high-resolution C-13 spectrum and its non-quaternary suppression version indicate fast protein side-chain motions but a rigid backbone structure on a time scale of roughly less than 0.001 to 0.

[Postoperative abdominal hernia and its treatment. Results in 438 patients].

The postoperative incisional hernia can be found after any incision, any suture, and also when the technique was as subtle as possible. The frequency ranges from 1--5%. The causes, the frequency, the suture-techniques, and the methods for reparation of an incisional hernia are described.

[Carcinoma of the pancreas: palliative surgery (author's transl)].

Among 1146 patients with diseases of the pancreas observed over a 15-year period, there were 234 cases of malignant duodeno-pancreatic tumors. This report concerns the intraoperative diagnostic methods and the various palliative operations available. There was a ratio of 13 males to 10 females, and the average age was 63 years.
