Article Synopsis
  • Overcrowded emergency departments often lead to reduced educational experiences for residents due to inpatient boarding, prompting the need for supplementary educational resources.
  • A new curriculum was developed using Kern's model, featuring ECG cases, procedural resources, and journal articles, and was distributed weekly to residents via email and departmental blogs.
  • Results showed that the curriculum improved resident satisfaction with teaching from an average score of 2.8 to 3.5 on a satisfaction scale, even amid high emergency department overcrowding scores.
