Surgical excision of advanced endometriosis has been demonstrated to improve women's pain symptoms and quality of life in women in randomized placebo-controlled trials, but there is no strong evidence regarding the live birth rate. The revised American Fertility Society (r-AFS) classification for endometriosis has a limited predictive ability for fertility outcomes after surgery; therefore, EFI scoring has been advised for predicting conception after endometriosis surgery. No randomized controlled trials have investigated fertility outcomes in patients with advanced endometriosis after surgery.

Methods: This prospective case-control study included 50 women with PCOS and age- and body mass index- matched 50 healthy controls. The hormone and lipid profiles, levels of microRNAs (miRNAs), and parameters of carbohydrate metabolism were measured.

Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate potential association of chorionic villus sampling CVS) with subsequent development of preeclampsia (PE) and eclampsia (E).
Study Design: The development of PE and E was compared between two groups as follows: 1- CVS group: women who underwent CVS ( = 228) and 2- Control group: maternal and gestational age matched women without invasive prenatal diagnostic procedure ( = 456). Main outcome measures were incidence of PE (mild, severe) and E.

Aim: The objective of this study was to present our experiences of tissue extraction via the transvaginal (TV) route after a mini-laparoscopic gynecological surgery and compare them with our transabdominal (TA) specimen extraction experiences.
Methods: This prospective randomized controlled study was conducted in a tertiary care center between July 2014 and February 2016. Fifty-eight women who were undergoing mini-laparoscopy for adnexal mass removal were randomized into two groups according to the surgical specimen removal by the TV route (n = 28) or the TA route (n = 30).
Background: In gynecological surgery, one particular area of concern after hysterectomy is the risk of developing an enterocele or vaginal apical prolapse. The aims of this study were to evaluate the safety and efficacy of prophylactic McCall culdoplasty (MC) performed during mini-total laparoscopic hysterectomy (mini-TLH), as well as to compare the differences in apical support, total vaginal length (TVL), and sexual function at one and two years postoperatively.
Methods: Data were retrospectively reviewed for all women who underwent mini-TLH and mini-TLH + MC at a tertiary care center between August 2012 and January 2016 were from the hospital database.
Purpose: The occurrence of ovarian damage is a major shortcoming in treating tumors with cisplatin (CP). The present study investigates the beneficial effects of ebselen-a seleno-organic compound with antioxidant and antiinflammatory properties-vis-à-vis CP-induced ovarian damage.
Methods: Twenty-eight adult female rats were divided into four study groups.
Background: Uterine smooth muscle tumor of uncertain malignant potential (STUMP) is rare tumor, and regarded as sub-classification in uterine smooth muscle tumors between benign and malignant criteria. In this study, we evaluated characteristics of cases with STUMP diagnosis in a 10-year period.
Methods: We retrospectively evaluated medical records of patients with histopathological STUMP diagnosis in Istanbul Training and Research Hospital, a tertiary center.
Background: Apigenin is a plant-derived compound belonging to the flavone class, which possess antioxidant, free-radical-scavenging and anti-inflammatory properties.
Aims: To address the effects of apigenin on serum anti-mullerian hormone levels, tissue oxidative stress parameters and histopathological changes in ovarian ischemia/reperfusion injury.
Study Design: Animal experiment.

Aim: The aim of the present study was to evaluate the usefulness of nestin as a discriminative marker between benign and malignant ovarian tumors.
Methods: During the 1 year from January 2015 through December 2015, a nonconsecutive series of 80 patients (40 malignant, 40 benign) who underwent surgery for an adnexal mass were enrolled in the study. Intraoperative frozen section evaluation was performed if there was a suspicion in diagnosis.
Objective: To study whether diminished ovarian reserve is associated with recurrent miscarriage.
Design: Cross-sectional clinical study.
Setting: Tertiary-care center.
The urachus is an embryologic remnant which degenerates after the birth. Defective obliteration of the urachus leads to urachal abnormalities. An infected urachal cyst is one of the urachal abnormalities and this pathology is rare in adult women.
