This study aimed to describe the severity of abortion-related complications, factors associated with complications, the types of management and the experience of care in Brazil. A cross-sectional study in twenty hospitals (10 in Federal District, 3 in Rondônia and 7 in Maranhão). For 3 months, all women treated for abortion/miscarriage had their data collected.

Objectives: The objectives of this study were to determine the prevalence of root caries (RC) in South Coastal population of India, to identify the risk indicators associated with it and to describe some clinical characteristics of RC lesions.
Materials And Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with a sample size of 1062 subjects to assess the prevalence of RC. Each subject underwent an oral examination, performed by a single-calibrated examiner.
Purpose: To verify the number of patients with COPD responders to two different home-based rehabilitation programs.
Methods: This was a blinded, randomized, and controlled clinical trial. The six-minute step test (6MST), one-minute sit-stand test (1-MSTST), six-minute walk test (6MWT), COPD Assessment Test (CAT), modified Medical Research Council (mMRC), monitoring of physical activity in daily life, and isometric quadriceps muscle strength were assessed pre- and post-intervention.
Chitosan (CS) is a promising polymeric biomaterial for use in scaffolds forskin models and wound dressings, owing to its non-antigenic and antimicrobial properties. However, CS often exhibits insufficient physicochemical properties, mechanical strength, and bioactivity, limiting its efficacy in demanding applications. To address these challenges, cotton cellulose nanofibers (CNFs) represent a promising nanomaterial for enhancing CS-based scaffolds in tissue engineering.

Based on previous extensive investigations of structure-reactivity patterns, researchers have been working on the development of catalysts as a means to detoxify phosphorus(V) organic compounds rapidly and safely through specific reaction pathways. This highlight reviews some recent advances in the utilization of catalytic systems for the decomposition of organophosphorus(V) compounds, in most cases using simulants of nerve agents.

In recent years, digital remote monitoring interventions have emerged to provide enhanced cancer care delivery experiences to patients and clinicians. However, patient and clinician experiential evaluations of these technologies are rare.

Recent studies increasingly question the use of prophylactic antibiotic therapy in healthy patients. This study aimed to evaluate the knowledge of dentist surgeons working in offices across Brazil regarding antibiotic use protocols and antibiotic resistance.

These vegetation indexes (VIs) are useful for agricultural monitoring, as they highlight the inherent characteristics of vegetation and optimize the spatial and temporal evaluation of different crops. The experiment tested three coffee genotypes (Catuaí 62, E237 and Iapar 59) under five water regimes: (1) FI 100 (year-round irrigation with 100% replacement of evapotranspiration), (2) FI 50 (year-round irrigation with 50% evapotranspiration replacement), (3) WD 100 (no irrigation from June to September (dry season) and, thereafter, 100% evapotranspiration replacement), (4) WD 50 (no irrigation from June to September (water stress) and, thereafter, 50% evapotranspiration replacement) and (5) rainfed (no irrigation during the year).

This pilot study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of toe-in and toe-out gait retraining on self-reported pain and physical function, and proxy measures of medial knee load, in individuals with medial knee osteoarthritis.
Methods: Twenty participants with symptomatic medial knee osteoarthritis were randomly allocated to receive either toe-in or toe-out gait retraining for six-weeks, consisting of weekly clinician-supervised sessions and ≥ 30 min of daily self-practice.
Background: Given the lack of evidence regarding the effects of adherence to oral nutritional supplements (ONS) and the types of formulas used in clinical practice, we aimed to assess the impact of adherence to ONS and the high-protein formula on the nutrition status and muscle strength in patients with gastrointestinal cancer.
Methods: This study evaluated newly diagnosed outpatients with esophageal, gastric, pancreatic, and colorectal cancer prescribed ONS. Nutrition status was assessed using the Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA), and muscle strength was assessed using handgrip strength (HGS) dynamometry.

Cognitive flexibility and working memory are important executive functions mediated by the prefrontal cortex and can be impaired by circadian rhythm disturbances such as chronic jet lag (CJL) or shift work. In the present study, we used mice to investigate whether (1) simulated CJL impairs cognitive flexibility, (2) the orexin system is involved in such impairment, and (3) nasal administration of orexin A is able to reverse CJL-induced deficits in cognitive flexibility and working memory. Mice were exposed to either standard light-dark conditions or simulated CJL consisting of series of advance time shifts.

Objective: The Osteoarthritis Chronic Care Program (OACCP) has been implemented in Australian public hospitals to deliver best evidence osteoarthritis (OA) care. It is important to ensure that the OACCP continues to deliver evidence-based OA care as intended. We aimed to identify barriers and enablers to delivering the OACCP, prioritize the barriers, and generate strategies to address them.

Elucidating the changes in the tumor and immune ecosystems that are associated with metastatic disease is essential to improve understanding and ultimately treatment of metastasis. Here, we developed an in-depth, spatially resolved single-cell atlas of the phenotypic diversity of tumor and immune cells in primary human breast tumors and matched distant metastases, using imaging mass cytometry to analyze a total of 75 unique antibody targets.

Method: This is a qualitative study, based on the theoretical-methodological framework of Social Representations, with the Theory of the Central Nucleus and Mute Zone by Jean Claude Abric. 51 professionals from specialized services from the metropolitan region of a capital in the northeast of Brazil participated, from October to December 2020.
Purpose: To harmonize the use of color for MR relaxometry maps and therefore recommend the use of specific color-maps for representing , , and maps and their inverses.
Methods: Perceptually linearized color-maps were chosen to have similar color settings as those proposed by Griswold et al. in 2018.
Methods to systematically monitor protein complex dynamics are needed. We introduce serial ultrafiltration combined with limited proteolysis-coupled mass spectrometry (FLiP-MS), a structural proteomics workflow that generates a library of peptide markers specific to changes in PPIs by probing differences in protease susceptibility between complex-bound and monomeric forms of proteins. The library includes markers mapping to protein-binding interfaces and markers reporting on structural changes that accompany PPI changes.
