Objective: The present study compared the structural and proteomic architecture of extracellular matrices (ECM) of decellularized human dental pulp using two previously described protocols.
Design: Pulp tissue from 150 molars was extracted and three treatments took place, based on the Matoug-Elwerfelli Group (MG) and the Song Group (SG) protocols and an untreated pulp group (CG), to examine histoarchitecture and the effectiveness of the decellularization process, using histological analysis (n = 12) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) (n = 3). Protein extraction took place using 100 mg dry weight of pulp, in triplicates for each group, and the shotgun proteome analysis was performed by nanoUPLC-MS.

This study investigated the production of nanoparticles through nanoprecipitation using cassava and potato starches as carriers to stabilize phenolic compounds (PC) from green propolis extract (PE). Additionally, the antioxidant and antimicrobial activities of PC stabilized with starch nanoparticles (SNPs), as well as their release under gastrointestinal conditions were investigated. PE exhibited antioxidant and antibacterial properties, especially PE3 (PE produced using sonication by 20 min and stirring at 30 °C for 24 h) had the highest concentrations of p-coumaric acid, rutin, kaempferol and quercetin.

The objective was to identify the methods, approaches, criteria, and indicators used to evaluate restaurants linked to government food and nutrition security programs. A scoping review based on the Joanna Briggs Institute's methodology and the international guide's recommendations of preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses extension for scoping reviews was conducted.

Thus, study the egg output response to the lysine (Lys) supply using different e-functions and evaluate the that best fit, have allowed the partition the lysine requirements for maintenance, both weight and egg output maximum.
Methods: The objectives of this study were to identify the responses to various Lys levels, identify the functions related to these responses and determine the ideal Lys intake amount for Japanese quail breeders.

Genetic group, age at entry into confinement and at slaughter, are characteristics that have an important influence on lamb performance and carcass. The aim of this study was to evaluate the performance, carcass characteristics and non-carcass components from different genetic groups (Santa Inês and ½ Dorper x ½ Santa Inês) sheep, submitted to different feedlot entry and exit strategies. Were used 72 lambs males and castrated; 36 Santa Inês (SI) and 36 crossbred (Dorper x Santa Inês-DSI), with 6 months of average initial age.

Among these, mycosis fungoides (MF) and Sézary syndrome (SS) represent classic forms of cutaneous T-cell lymphomas (CTCLs). This report details the case of a 67-year-old female who presented with longstanding pruritic skin lesions, initially misdiagnosed and managed as eczema.

In this work, we aimed to characterize these strains. The 16S rRNA gene sequences confirmed that these strains are members of the genus .

Heart failure (HF) is a complex clinical syndrome associated with high rates of morbidity and mortality. Over the years, it has been crucial to find accurate biomarkers capable of doing a precise monitor of HF and provide an early diagnosis. Of these, it has been established an important role of natriuretic peptides in HF assessment.

In this work, it was our aim to obtain new insight on UOMI, specifically on idiopathic (ID) and Unexplained male infertility (UMI), relying on a detailed evaluation of the male gamete, including functional, metabolic and proteomic aspects. For this purpose, 1114 semen samples, from males in couples seeking infertility treatment, were collected at the Reproductive Medicine Unit from the Centro Hospitalar e Universitário de Coimbra (CHUC), from July 2018-July 2022.

Purpose: The goal of this article was to introduce a new root coverage (RC) technique, the mixed-thickness tunnel access (MiTT) technique, which approaches a full-split design and intends to augment soft tissues coronal to the gingival margin. It was shown step-by-step, and the results were presented in a case series.
Methods: Healthy individuals (non-diabetics) and non-smokers with gingival recession (GR) type 1 or 2 (RT1 or RT2) were included.
Background: The burden of maternal morbidity in neonatal outcomes can vary with the adequacy of healthcare provision and tool implementation to improve monitoring. Such information is lacking in Latin American countries, where the decrease in severe maternal morbidity and maternal death remains challenging.
Objectives: To determine neonatal outcomes according to maternal characteristics, including different degrees of maternal morbidity in Latin American health facilities.
Clinical and pathological staging plays an important role on the prognosis of head and neck cancer (HNC) patients. The present study aims to compare clinical and pathological T, N and overall staging in patients with HNC, to identify factors associated with these discrepancies, and to analyze and compare survival or disease-free survival in staging disagreements. Retrospective cohort including every patient submitted to neck dissection from January 2010 to December 2020 in the department of Otorhinolaryngology of a tertiary hospital center.

The β-barrel assembly machinery (BAM) complex is responsible for inserting outer membrane proteins (OMPs) into the Escherichia coli outer membrane. The SecYEG translocon inserts inner membrane proteins into the inner membrane and translocates both soluble proteins and nascent OMPs into the periplasm. Recent reports describe Sec possibly playing a direct role in OMP biogenesis through interactions with the soluble polypeptide transport-associated (POTRA) domains of BamA (the central OMP component of BAM).

Introduction: After three years since the beginning of the pandemic, the new coronavirus continues to raise several questions regarding its infectious process and host response. Several mutations occurred in different regions of the genome, such as in the spike gene, causing the emergence of variants of concern and interest (VOCs and VOIs), of which some present higher transmissibility and virulence, especially among patients with previous comorbidities. It is essential to understand its spread dynamics to prevent and control new biological threats that may occur in the future.
