Background: The COVID-19 pandemic changed the healthcare system, leading to the rapid evolution and implementation of telemedicine (TM). TM has the potential to improve the quality of primary health care and increase accessibility for the population. However, its use may represent challenges for older people, as they may have distinct needs from the general population due to age-related changes in perceptual, motor, and cognitive capacities.

The Quebec Alzheimer plan, implemented in 2014, aimed to cover these needs, but there is no research on the effect this plan had on the needs and expectations of persons living with dementia. The objective of this study is to identify persons living with dementia and caregivers' met and unmet needs and to describe their experience.

Method: A qualitative study consisting of focus groups and individual interviews with caregivers of persons with stroke. Participants were asked about their needs in managing the care of their family member and the factors that facilitated and/or hindered the transition to the home and influenced them in maintaining their role.
To reduce the risk of a recurring event in patients who have suffered an initial stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA), nurses are challenged with implementing and promoting changes in lifestyle and adherence to treatment regimens. Assessing patients' beliefs about the cause of the stroke or TIA is important to understanding their subsequent health behaviors. This study describes the causal attributions and health behavior choices of 9 participants following a stroke or TIA.

This qualitative study explored the perceptions of hope of 8 stroke patients during the acute care phase. Data generated 5 themes: storytelling, vision of hope, worries and concerns for the future, type of hope, and self-healing.

Although there are several published studies evaluating community interventions for stroke survivors, the nursing role has not been clearly articulated.
Aim: The aim of this paper is to report a study to describe, using a standardized classification system, the nursing interventions used with stroke survivors during the initial 6 weeks following discharge home.
Unlabelled: BACKGROUND/LITERATURE REVIEW: The prevalence of agitated behaviors in different populations with dementia is between 24% and 98%. Although agitated behaviors are potentially disruptive, little research attention has been focused on the effects of these behaviors upon nursing staff. The objectives of this study of demented patients in long-term-care beds at an acute care community hospital were to determine the frequency and disruptiveness of agitated behaviors; to investigate the associations of patient characteristics and interventions with the level of agitation; and to explore the burden of these agitated behaviors on nursing staff.
