Atypical Presentation of Acute Pericarditis Secondary to Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation: A Case Report.

Cardiotoxicity linked with hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is a well-described phenomenon associated with an increased mortality risk; however, the majority of cardiac events present over 100 days following transfusion and are often attributed to graft-versus-host disease or pre-treatment conditioning by chemotherapy with or without radiation therapy. Here, we present the case of a 60-year-old female with a medical history of chronic lymphocytic leukemia complicated by a myelodysplastic syndrome that progressed to acute myeloid leukemia who developed chest pain immediately following an allogeneic HSCT. Electrocardiogram showed dynamic ST-depressions in leads V3-5 without evidence of reciprocal changes.

Basal cell carcinomas (BCCs) remain one of the most common non-melanoma skin cancers (NMSCs). Surgical options include primary excision with predetermined margins, frozen section controlled excision, and Mohs micrographic surgery (MMS). There is no randomized study comparing recurrence rates between different surgical techniques for periocular BCCs.

Study Design: Retrospective comparative study.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate whether preoperative depressive symptoms, measured by mental component score of the Short Form-12 survey (MCS-12), influence patient-reported outcome measurements (PROMs) following an anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) surgery for cervical degeneration.

Summary Of Background Data: There is a paucity of literature regarding preoperative depression and PROMs following ACDF surgery for cervical degenerative disease.

Contact Aspiration versus Stent-Retriever Thrombectomy for Distal Middle Cerebral Artery Occlusions in Acute Ischemic Stroke: Meta-Analysis.

Purpose: The evidence for endovascular therapy and choice of technique in distal middle cerebral artery (MCA) M2 segment occlusions in acute ischemic stroke remains controversial. We aimed to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis primarily comparing reperfusion rates of stent-retrieval versus contact aspiration for M2 occlusions.

Materials And Methods: Study selection included cohorts of patients with distal MCA occlusions in acute ischemic strokes treated with an endovascular approach including stent-retrieval or contact aspiration.

Association between bullous pemphigoid and psoriasis: Systematic review and meta-analysis of case-control studies.
