Background: The aim of this study is to analyze the clinical outcomes of common arterial trunk repair beyond infancy in terms of both early- and long-term outcomes.
Methods: Between January 2003 and December 2019, 56 patients underwent repair for common arterial trunk beyond infancy at our institute. Median age was 34.

Hemostasis is a crucial step in cardiac surgery which determines postoperative outcomes. Tissue sealants and glues are necessary to achieve hemostasis in situations where conventional methods are unsuccessful. BioGlue, a commonly used topical hemostatic agent, has been reported to cause systemic embolic complications.

Aims And Objectives: This study aims to check the prevalence of CAUTI and study the phenotypic and genotypic characters of the multidrug-resistant organisms in a tertiary care hospital, with special reference to NDM-1 and OXA-23.
The article demonstrates the crystalline silk nano-discs (CSNs), with well-controlled morphology, which upon magnetization, yields magnetic crystalline silk nano-discs, making both prominent alternatives for replacing metal templates such as gold, silver, and so on in therapeutics and implants. The isolated β-sheet-rich discotic CSNs have ~50 nm diameter, high crystallinity (> 90%), and are insoluble but provide good dispersibility and stability in aqueous solutions. The melt blending-cum-electrospinning of functionalized CSN with poly(lactic acid) results in biocompatible nanofiber-based scaffolds having in vitro cell cytocompatibility with improved cell adhesion and proliferation.

Aim: This study aimed to find out the prevalence of ciprofloxacin resistance among the uropathogenic , to determine the virulence factors of these isolates, and to detect the aac-(6)-lb-cr gene among those isolates with minimal inhibitory concentrations (MICs) of ciprofloxacin >256 mcg/ml.
Introduction: During tooth movement the success of sliding mechanics is dependent upon various factors which include frictional resistance at bracket-archwire interface, surface roughness of archwire materials and elastic properties of archwires. Ion implantation techniques reduce the frictional force and allow better tooth movement clinically.
Aim: The main objective of this study was to evaluate and compare the frictional properties, load deflection rate and surface characteristics of Honey dew and Purple coloured (Ion implanted) TMA wires with uncoated TMA wires.
Semiconducting silver selenide telluride (Ag₂SeTe) thin films were prepared with different thicknesses onto glass substrates at room temperature using thermal evaporation technique. The structural properties were determined as a function of thickness by X-ray diffraction exhibiting no preferential orientation along any plane; however, the films are found to have peaks corresponding to mixed phase. The morphology of these films was studied using scanning electron microscope and atomic force microscopy respectively, and is reported.

We wished to compare the levels of block assessed using a non-standardised, assessor-dependent touch stimulus with those assessed when the same stimulus was applied in a standardised manner independent of the assessor.
Methods: In a double-blind, randomised study the levels of block to touch were assessed by two investigators, one using a hand-held Neurotip tester pin and the other using the same tester pin mounted in a spring loaded system (Neuropen).
The preparation of several new, water-soluble, polyfluorinated aryl azide reagents for use in photoaffinity labeling studies is described. The ability of some of these reagents and their nonfluorinated controls to noncovalently bind to alpha-chrymotrypsin is reported. It is found that polyfluorination does not interfere with ligand binding.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA series of fluorinated aryl azides and fluorinated azidobenzoates were studied by laser flash photolysis techniques. Using the pyridine ylide probe method it was possible to determine whether a singlet nitrene or ring-expanded ketenimine ylide is the trappable intermediate that is generated at ambient temperature. It was determined that two fluorine substituents, ortho and ortho' substituted relative to the azide group, are required to retard ring expansion and allow bimolecular capture of the singlet nitrene.
