The recovery of biophenols from wastewaters of olive oil production.

In this article, the phenolic composition of wastewaters prepared from different cultivars of Olea europaea have been described. The main aim is the recovery of these compounds for technological utilization.

[Seasonal trends of some volatile organic compounds inside and outside private apartments located in areas characterized by different vehicular traffic intensity of Rome].

This study was aimed at determining volatile organic compounds concentrations in indoor and outdoor sites located in Rome characterized by different traffic intensity. Indoor and outdoor air passive samplings were effected in private locations during four seasonal periods. In all sites about 50 pollutants were determined qualitatively and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes were determined quantitatively.

Autoradiographic study of the effects of estrogen on in vivo incorporation of 3H-uridine into uterine smooth muscle and stromal RNA in the aging ovariectomized mouse.

An autoradiographic study was made of de novo RNA synthesis and nuclear area in endometrial stroma and myometrium in ovariectomized C57B1/6J mice. A comparison of uterine tissue from young adult (4 to 7 month old) mice was made with tissue from animals of the age of decreased fertility (15 months of age). In mice receiving exogenous estradiol-17 beta there was an age related decrease in nuclear grain counts 60 min after injection of 3H-uridine which was more pronounced in endometrial stroma than in myometria when mice were compared with oil injected controls of the same age.

Intrauterine instillation of prostaglandin F2ALPHA IN EARLY PREGNANCY.

Intrauterine PGF2alpha (5mg) was administered for termination of early pregnancy in 14 healthy volunteers. With 11 complete abortions, the efficiency rate of this technique is below conventional methods. In addition, the incidience of infection was high occuring in 12 out of 14 subjects.
