The Bundled Payment for Care Improvement Advanced (BPCI-A) model encourages value-based care by bundling 90-day healthcare-related costs into a single payment for eligible service codes and procedures for traditional Medicare Part A and B beneficiaries. Our institution, an Age-Friendly Health Systems Level 2 certified academic health center, participated in the BPCI-A model from 2018 to 2022. This study aimed to determine differences in days spent at home in the 30- and 90-day post-hospitalization period for older patients in the BPCI-A program based on Age-Friendly care status.

Monitoring data from several European countries indicate that European hedgehog () populations are declining, and research exploring the causes of the decline, including exposure to potentially harmful xenobiotics and metals, may inform conservation initiatives to protect this species in the wild. Hedgehogs are ground-dwelling mammals, feeding on a range of insects, slugs, snails, and earthworms, as well as eggs, live vertebrates, and carrion, including carcasses of apex predator species representing higher levels of the food chain. Consequently, hedgehogs come into close contact with contaminants present in their habitats and prey.

All models were tested on four weight classes of hedgehogs, each placed in three different positions. Objectives: A recent study from Sweden showed that European hedgehogs may constitute a reservoir for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), but this host-parasite relationship remains to be investigated in other countries. In this study, we therefore sought to: 1) determine the dissemination of MRSA in European hedgehogs throughout Denmark; 2) investigate determinants of MRSA carriage in hedgehogs; 3) determine the potential for zoonotic transmission of MRSA from hedgehogs to humans; and 4) characterise the detected MRSA on both a phenotypic and molecular level.

Methods: Nasal swabs were taken from 188 dead hedgehogs collected by volunteers throughout Denmark to determine the occurrence of MRSA.

Purpose: Current diagnostic tests for diffuse large B-cell lymphoma use the updated WHO criteria based on biologic, morphologic, and clinical heterogeneity. We propose a refined classification system based on subset-specific B-cell-associated gene signatures (BAGS) in the normal B-cell hierarchy, hypothesizing that it can provide new biologic insight and diagnostic and prognostic value.
